I just want all my UT baseball games live on TV. If somehow a conference network can do that with virtually all the conference schools playing on the same days at roughly the same times then great. How does that work though?

The way it does now.  Two teams get to be on SEC Network and everyone else goes to SEC Network+ which is just ESPN+ but doesn’t cost extra (yet)

On the Big Ten Network I can watch Buckeye men and women’s basketball games, home and away. I can watch men’s baseball, wrestling, women’s softball, men and women’s hockey, men and women’s lacrosse, women’s field hockey, men and women’s gymnastics, men and women’s volleybal, and tennis, and soccer (which I don’t, but I can). I can watch swimming and diving. And you know what? There’s still time to show sports for other schools in the conference. (For some sports it’s just conference meets where multiple schools are represented.) 24 hrs a day gives you more time than one school can fill. It also gives time for original programs like The Journey which introduces you to different basketball or football players from various schools every week. I think that’s awesome. I’m interested in the other schools/teams in the conference. They could fill a Buckeye-only network with programming but it would be nowhere nearly as interesting.

Then there’s also the fact that the first live game broadcast on BTN was Appalachian State’s upset of Michigan in Ann Arbor. That was glorious and I wouldn’t have gotten to see it otherwise.

Este. Texas baseball is almost always listed and then when you click on it it won't play or it just straight says that game is blocked. And we have a paid sub.

Their interface is generally an utter POS anyway and the site/app are glitchy as fuck. Yesterday my kid was in Indiana helping with some live streaming of a volleyball tournament that ESPN had exclusive rights to on Sunday. He wanted to check the live stream to see how it was looking. I could log in and watch fine here, either on the phone app or on the website, but he finally gave up after like 15 tries, using the correct login info. I've had the same experience as well, when it just wouldn't let me in, using the correct login. It's piss.

ESPN is the shittiest streaming company on earth

they are so much more shitty than anything else it is not even close

“The Longhorn Network was a blessing in disguise for us,” Loftin told the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman in July 2021. “The A&M world was not unified about what to do in 2010. But the LHN changed everything. It went from 50-50 (percent) to 95-5. I thank Texas for catalyzing the sense that A&M had to do something, something bold and something that was really meant for A&M.”

The fact a Texas A&M official will be in charge of Longhorn Network is quite the plot twist when considering the channel’s history. Its announced launch in 2011 prompted then-A&M president Bowen Loftin to declared the Big 12 was in a state of “uncertainty.” Two months later, the Aggies announced they were leaving the conference for the SEC.

the fact that aggy will end up having to share the LHN with the sips is the biggest irony in history

please, for the umpteenth thousand time, corn, tigger, ralph and aggy had already left or announced they were leaving before the LHN was announced

Nope, because I refuse to Spectrum. Fuck those Spectrum pieces of shit, and you can't see Astros games in Austin on Bally anyway.

Well, trust me--it's a far worse app than ESPN.  I have yet to watch an event during which the Bally's app didn't freeze or crash at least once.

StreamEast. It's great for watching live, stream quality is awesome and consistent, and you can pause live action to the point where I have never paused long enough for it to jump ahead on its own ... and I've paused for like 1+ hour. I also use the XBox app to record games when I know I can't watch live, fwiw. Works great. MLB, NHL, NBA, CFB, NFL, Racing, & more ...

Can you give some cites for that?

What I’m seeing says LHN announced 4/2011. Aggy announced their intention to run away 6/2011.

thanks.

^^ To clarify, that's streameast.xyz. There are other sites out there that go by streameast as well.

One aggy will get some (minimal) $.  They still owe UT about $100 mil.

Aggy thinks they're ahead in the deal.  Kind of like they are ahead of us at Omaha in baseball.  If they are happy with it, so too am I.

aggy announced two months later, but that obviously had been in the works for a while.  One of their dipshit administratrators slipped and told when they had started discussions with the Redneck Conference, and it was over a year before there was a LHN.

This all ignores the fact that DeLoss invited them to join us in a Lone Star Network before any thought of an LHN.  And othe Big 12 members declined to join an initiative to form a Big XII Network.

Oh, I know that we offered it to others first and that Corn and Tigger had already left before it was announced.

I was asking for specifics cites showing that ATM had already announced their intentions before LHN was announced.

I am not being a contrarian. I am simply asking for evidence. “We’ve covered this 1000 times” isn’t that.

You are wrong, wrong, wrong. We sips announced the LHN, then the SEC saw this as the opportunity to grab the big prize that is aggy. They fell all over themselves by caving to all aggy demands. That is why it only took 2 months after the LHN to put the deal together.

. . . and Bill Byrne declined, stating publicly it would never be profitable. Nebraska sank the Big 12 Network because it jeopardized their own network plans.

It was telling years ago when Disney stopped requiring LHN as a regional channel during TV provider negotiations. Hell, ESPN hasn't updated their Get Access info since at least 2020. Both Playstation Vue and Layer3 TV shutdown that year but still appear here http://www.espn.com/longhornnetwork/getaccess

It was our last series before the Big 12 tournament.  We don’t have the replay rights to the games in Arlington they are under the Big12+ contract.

My question is when LHN is gone where will we watch our football games like 2 of the first 3 this season that are on LHN?

Those were PPV before LHN.

I am going to guess/hope/wishcast that SEC Network carries all of the sports content of LHN and the "filler material" will be replaced by other SEC sports content.

sucks that since I moved from VA, I cannot get LHN here in Texas City.  The POA only allows xfinity to service internet and cable.  I hated internet TV (YouTube/Hulu) when i was renting an apartment in Houston. I'm hoping now with the move to the SEC, these games will be available on either the SEC network or on ESPN plus
