T Boone Pickens' ghost may need to get called in a seance for some pocket change in the years ahead. WTF would make you think Gundy is the highest paid coach in college football? I think K. Smart is at $13M this year. Quote Gundy’s five-year rollover contract, which he signed in 2022, was not changed. He received his latest annual increase of $125,000 on Jan. 1, which brought his total salary to $7.75 million for the 2024 season.
October 28, 20241 yr The buyout is about $25 million. But it's very dumb to go there because of one bad season. There are other reasons for frustration but he's still by far the most successful coach in our history. We do need change in coordinators, DC at least. Something needs to change on that side of the ball. A mobile QB next year will help too. I think our non-Ollie RB's are good enough to have some success if the OL can block better and a moble QB can make more holes open up. This year is fucked and yeah, Skateboo is going to have a field day on this shitty defense.

October 30, 20241 yr Yeah... I'm on team keep Mike Gundy. I don't think his 9 lives at okie lite are all gone. He's the most successful coach in the history of their program. They're not running him out after one bad year. He would need 2-3 completely non-competitive years + some off field controversy for them to consider moving on.
November 3, 20241 yr Pokes got worked by ASU at home Saturday. They need to win out to make a bowl. Ollie Gordon's stock has pretty much tanked this season. It's a shame Bedlam is no more because watching a cripple fight between ou and oSu in late November would be like watching a 4 hour train wreck.
November 5, 20241 yr Mike Gundy: "The people that are negative and voicing their opinion are the same ones that can't pay their own bills" Gundy's comments are drawing plenty of early criticism, but deserve a full and complete examination before coming to a thoughtful conclusion. November 5, 20241 yr Dumb response on his part, but that's who he is and has been all these years. I do agree the fans need to calm their fucking tits already. It's a bad year. We haven't had a losing season since 2005. Get over your fucking selves. As soon as he retires we're gonna be a stepping stone job . Considering the likes of Texas, FSU, USC, etc. have gone through some serious shitty years and coaching hires, I can't fucking plausibly imagine how the fans think we're magically gonna be immune from that cycle. The next coach is destined to fail spectacularly per the "following a legend" rule. And if we land on a badass, he'll leave after a 9-3 year for a better program. Period.

The only alum I can think of coaching at a high level is Zac Robinson who has worked his way to OC for Atlanta, but the NFL is a way better job these days, and from what I can tell he's taking some heat (although he's got Kirk Fucking Cousins to work with). Todd Monken is a popular name, but again, NFL is a better job, and he's close to 60 already I think. Just now, Pokoloco said: It's time for him to go. I'll take my chances being a stepping stone job. November 5, 20241 yr Lincoln “brisket whisperer “ Riley is ready for the big 12 again - do it osu do it. I Bet he’ll listen

Thats a pretty accurate take. For all of his negatives, the unique thing he offered OSU was the willingness to coach in Stillwater for 20 years.
November 6, 20241 yr 20 hours ago, TOR said: OMG this needs to happen. Sorry, 'stache and poko. What's the buyout clause on this? Does he get paid regardless of future employment?
November 6, 20241 yr 20 hours ago, Deej said: He's tanned, rested, and ready. If aggy’s paying, sure, why not. We don’t have the aggy culture problem and he’s probably as decent a bet as most up and comers. Riley’s still a good offensive coach and Stillwater is somewhere on the spectrum between LA and Muleshoe. Nobody would notice a defensive difference either. Edited November 6, 20241 yr by 'stache
November 6, 20241 yr His recruiting continues to suck. We're 63rd right now...just behind Georgia State.

November 10, 20241 yr Think Gundy might have hit his 2013 Mack Brown point of no return time. He’s a very good coach but in downward spiral.
November 29, 20241 yr Just now, nineliveslost said: How did OSU fall to pieces so fast? Ditto? What happened to Gundy ?
November 29, 20241 yr They just fell apart. The were so competitive for years and now it almost seems Gundy said fuck it
November 29, 20241 yr Guess losing their meth riddled older brother was more traumatic to their psyche than anyone could have predicted
November 29, 20241 yr I don't think Gundy has any desire to develop 3 star WRs who will portal for NIL money after a solid season.
November 29, 20241 yr Just crazy to see how shitty this OSU team is. I will seeing Ollie Gordon suffer through a shitty season after all his histrionics last year is nice.

November 29, 20241 yr I think it was more like Mack Brown in terms of losing assistants and running out of people he could trust and bring in and have them do the job.....he had some massive reaches for OC and DC the last few years and it has taken them time to get up to speed or they do not get up to speed and get fired.....it was the same with Mack he ran out of shit hot young assistants with fire shooting out of their asses to actually come in and do the dirty work of coaching players up and being the bad guy instead of the guy just hoping the kids had fun
November 29, 20241 yr When your state economy is driven by meth sales, its hard to compete in todays NIL environment.
November 29, 20241 yr Didn't know what to do with himself not having to spend most of his season gameplanning for Texas and OU.
November 29, 20241 yr Maybe I can interest the estate of T Boone Pickens in a yellow-toothed coach with championship experience
