August 25, 20223 yr Thanks for sharing. First couple seasons, that show was about as dark as it gets, brutal stuff. Overall we have enjoyed it, I had forgotten the commander ate it.
August 26, 20223 yr I love that the still shot of the trailer is June looking intensely at the camera. But just slightly off to the side. Perfect.
September 29, 20223 yr Checking in to report that slow show remains slow... Oh, and the characters are all fucking stupid.
September 29, 20223 yr It was hard getting through the previous seasons can't imagine it has gotten better.

September 29, 20223 yr I watch this because the wife does. I feel like this show needs “suicidal thoughts” for men warning at the beginning.

September 29, 20223 yr Everything so far could have been covered in two episodes. We've spent hours of self-indulgent, drawn-out angst about June's inevitable return to the fight all played on endless close-ups of E. Moss's face. I'm embarrassed for Moss as she directed the first few episodes (likely bait to keep her going with the show). "You, know what this show needs is another close-up of my face." I thought the show mercifully ended last season, too. I wonder if they just couldn't resist going another season for whatever gain the network gets out of it. More subscribers or subscribers staying? I'm glad that the buried pistol didn't just work after she dug it up. Ann Dowd's Aunt Lidia is the heart of the show right now. My God, what an actress. Bradley Whitford is the other actor injecting a little life and, egads!, even wit to the show. It's. All. So. Serious.

Her face makes me angry.

October 20, 20223 yr Wife watches this and I would spend most of the time on my phone the first half of season as it seemed like they were just playing out the string (and should have ended it a season ago) but I thought the twist with Serena the last couple of episodes was pretty solid and kept me watching. But yeah - the June close ups are ridiculous.
October 20, 20223 yr Seems like I made the right call tapping out on this. Wish I'd done the same for Yellowstone after the first season.

October 21, 20223 yr Luke just showing up like nothing happened was total bullshit. "Yeah they just dropped me off at the border" . F that, one of them should have ended up on the wall if the writers gave a shit
October 21, 20223 yr This show keeps teasing me on the Hulu screen, and I keep passing it up. Guess I'm in the majority (on this thread) now. I watched the first episode and it was about as satisfying as a big wet fart. Building up the wife to be the new villain. June is broken and can't accept getting away and NEEDS to go back to the fight and set up another season of her undercover again? And of course ended with yet another close up of her face. Once I saw the face shot I figured they were just poking at us with that and letting us know they weren't changing for shit. Just a retread of past seasons. Not sure I'll ever get around to episode 2.

October 28, 20223 yr I will say that s5e8 was actually pretty solid. Of course you shouldn’t have to suffer through s3, s4, and 7 episodes of s5 before getting a good one. And yeah Luke should have been dead and not available to participate in this episode.
May 20May 20 So yes, there was a Season 6. It was a steaming pile of shit. I can’t believe I spent however long it took to watch all 6 seasons of this fucking horrible shitty ass nothing of a series…buying in to all the build up that something was about to happen…. Then holy fuck if in the series finale…they roll to credits BEFORE ANYTHING FUCKING HAPPENS!
May 20May 20 I could have sworn there was a Season 6 thread. But yes, after the first two seasons, this show has given me nothing but TV-blue balls. Not since the last seasons of Walking Dead have I hated something I keep watching this much.

May 20May 20 They killed or flipped all the bad guys that we have any connection to, so not sure what’s left to do next week. I could have been cool with this being the last episode.
May 20May 20 The lead girl is so ugly I just cannot imagine all the people killing themselves and others to be with her. (edit) and she has the personality of Flint, Michigan tap water. Edited May 20May 20 by BrazilHorn

May 20May 20 Haven't watched any of this season or read this thread. I just need to know if a third of every episode is just a brooding June closeup. Edited May 20May 20 by MissingInAction

May 21May 21 I guess I am happy the series is finally over. It was time. Never mind. I guess there is one more episode. My comment still stands though.
May 22May 22 Finally, an action-packed episode. Be interesting to see how things are wrapped up in the series finale.
May 27May 27 It's finally fucking over. Be sure to keep your phone handy to browse while "watching" it in the background. Spoiler It involves about 300 words of dialogue, long sweeping shots, indulgent close-ups of June's scowling smiling face, the reappearance of a character we're supposed to remember whom I've totally forgotten and unsure why I should give a shit, and a slow-song music video of sorts. Nothing else really happens -- just pointless chats with friends we've met along the way. Edit: It looks like there's supposed to be a sequel series called 'The Testaments' based on another Atwood novel from 2019 that follows up on her original one in this universe. It supposedly will follow the daughter 3-4 years later when the kid is high school age. Edited May 27May 27 by bolverk

May 29May 29 I tried to watch one of the final eps hoping to see some combat or any action. Nope just june leading her cadre with fists clenched while some shitty rap about women power vagina lightning played. 15 seconds and noped out. Edited May 29May 29 by MissingInAction
May 29May 29 Sappy finale but I guess they know their audience. Same reason they were always brief and vague about the Gilead revolution and takeover. Viewers like us on this board would be into that but the show is about the women and their struggle.
