I still don’t understand the ‘three days’ thing.  He died midday Friday.  They removed the boulder to his tomb midday Sunday.  That’s two days.  Not three. This isn’t ’Swingers’

Long setup

A warning to all - be careful about drink driving as the police are out checking on people. Last night I was out for a few drinks and one thing led to another and I had a few too many, not a good idea & knowing I was over the limit, I decided to leave the car at the pub and took…

I think in the old Jewish way of counting days, Friday counted as a full day regardless of when you start the clock.  So that's the first day, Saturday is the second day, and He rose on the third day.

And in the Latin alphabet, Jehovah starts with an I.

For the Jews, the new day begins - or used to begin - at sundown - and the practice was widespread. We keep it in some instances today. It's why we have "Christmas EVE" and "Hallow E'EN". The Eve is the beginning of day. So... Friday after sundown, in the Olden Ways, is Saturday.

Also, someone pointed out that Latin alphabet had no "J", so that Jehovah was written with an "I". There's more to that: Latin also had no "V" as we use it today for the voiced "F" sound, and the letter "V" apparently was more of a "U" or "W" sound as we use them today. Phonetically, it seems that the name likely sounded like YahWay.

Here's where it gets interesting. The Romans were supposedly quite tolerant of various religious beliefs, but they had their own chief God, whom they called Jove, same as the name of the planet Jupiter, or Zeus Pater. But - here you go again. No "J" and no "V-sound", so Jove is actually written as IOUE, and likely pronounced YohWay... which I'd say is pretty damn close to YahWay.

Your mileage may vary.

Go hunt for the egg-laying rabbits, now. The best part is they lay hard-boiled eggs. Well, and chocolate ones, too.

It’s like counting legal deadlines in the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. So is it due ON the third day, or after three days? Summary: Jesus was just being cautious and didn’t want to miss his filing deadline.

It doesn't take cunning to see that JOVE = IOUE = YOWAY = YAHWEH, but it's not obvious. Simply noticing that the word "Jesus" is said aloud differently in Spanish and English should be a starting place...
