That's what required such a lengthy mea culpa

When I was in college, a lady I was seeing had a calico with a similar mark under its nose. I forget what its real name was, but whenever it would walk by, a buddy and I would give it the Nazi salute. Lady friend was not amused.

I guess the cat pic was posted above. For some reason I’m not seeing it, so adding another just in case someone else can’t load the other and wants to know what the stink is all about.

I would think that those jumping around over in KC would have bigger shit to swallow. Like the shit barbecue, or how tight their casinos are, or some other real issue.

It wasn’t even this lady’s cat, some viewers cat. Maybe it shouldn’t have made the air, but someone put it all together and she read it. Whatever. I just find it so fucking difficult to buy into a lot of this “fake outrage” shit when these “kids” grew up on shit like South Park and Family Guy. Really?

Maybe they should have dug deeper into why weather girl Michelle Bogowith left her position in Columbia, MO to transfer to KC’s Fox station amid heavy rumors of banging way too much with former coach Gary Pinkel. Rumors he gave her a love child, what a shitshow. She moved, and it looked like it all got swept under a rug somewhere.

So yeah, back to wondering how this cat name is offensive, but not all the tv they grew up with.

There's always been people who got offended by everything, but they never had the social power they do now. There's an old saying that every phone call or letter to your company represents the thoughts of a hundred people who didn't call or write. That's not true, anymore. A small organized group can flood a station with calls. So, a station that gets, normally, a couple of calls a week about content suddenly gets fifty calls in one day. OMG! EVERYONE IS UPSET! Apologize!

South Park and Family Guy avoided getting cancelled cause

(A) the people who watch them weren't going to be offended by their content, as they were going for a specific audience, not the general audience a weathercast is going for.

(B) they basically said "fuck off" to the people who complained, their ratings didn't drop, and the corporate suits shrugged.

Yeah. Also, much like Saturday Night Live during the '70s and '80s, South Park doesn't spare any person, group, or country. Everyone is a potential target. They've got balls. I like that.

His favorite food?  Kit 'n Kagoebbels

Who wants chicken, who wants liver, S.S....won't you please deliver?

The cat's paintings were for shit, but wait until you hear his plans for rounding up all the rats in the farmhouse laid out in his seminal work "Maus Kampf"

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said
"Fellas, it's been good to know ya"

That was rookie stuff with the plate sliding around.  Gotta hug your meal when the ship is moving like that.

I still find myself doing that some 12 years later. Old habits die hard it seems.

I can remember walking down the passageway to the mess deck and half the time I was walking on the bulkhead.

Is that something you get used to? I mean not getting seasick, (walking on the bulkheads seems like a good way to trip).

I chummed the water several times on a half-day fishing trip, and that was just a LITTLE choppy. I can’t imagine being knocked around the ocean like that. I’d probably walk around with a feedbag like contraption to puke into every few minutes.

Hence the term "sea legs." You get used to getting seasick, too. Took me about 3 days of praying someone would kill me, then I was good.

RPM is right. You get used to it.

Only time I ever chunked was in the med. wind waves from hell, every which way, and 20ft+. Storm lasted 3 days and not a soul that didn’t lose their lunch. Some multiple times. We’re talking having to break down and use seatbelts at watch stations kind of shit. Storm beat us up so bad it added 6 months onto the scheduled post-deployment yard period. It was bad.

I looked like one after 3 days. I would have welcomed the sweet release of death around hour 34.

Forgot to add you haven't experienced the full spectrum of life until you've hugged the toilet in a 30 man berthing area.

My Dad was in the navy for nine years.  He was a flier, so always stationed on aircraft carriers.  He loved to talk about the worst storms he was ever in and how the carrier would rock gently while he was watching frigates and destroyers and tenders get tossed around like toys.
