The odometer does not go backwards when a car is in reverse.

Many years ago they could.  They were mechanical and used gears.

he was totally lip-syncing to Danke Schoen

And let’s be honest the Exelon plaza is not right next to the Dirksen Federal building when Ferris was singing

You're right. An odometer does not go backwards when a car is in reverse. But then again, that never happened in the movie either:

Cameron: I better check on the car. Hey Ferris! The miles aren't coming off, going in reverse.

Ferris: Well, I thought that might be a problem. We’ll just have to crack open the odometer and roll it back by hand.

Cameron: No, forget it. Forget it. (proceeds to bitch, moan, and destroy the car)

Life comes at you pretty fast...

I am concerned you know that much dialogue from that movie.

TBH I am not a huge fan of that movie, I just remembered that they never actually rolled the miles back. I actually googled the script to make sure I wasn't full of shit. This time, anyway.

And it didn't. What's your point?

^^^The Defund Gravity protest did not succeed.

Edit:  I'll add the YT link, since so far the comments are more fun:

Brenda and Eddie were the
Popular steadys
And the king and the queen
Of the prom
Riding around with the car top
Down and the radio on
Nobody looked any finer
Or was more of a hit at the
Parkway Diner
We never knew we could want more
Than that out of life
Surely Brenda and Eddie would
Always know how to survive

It's always fun to see what people find unrealistic in movies. It depends on the area of interest. Guys who are gun aficionados get annoyed when a movie is set in the 1870s and people are using guns that weren't developed until the 1890s. Car guys get annoyed about stuff like this.

I got annoyed when Bruce Wayne, a billionaire in great physical shape, had the unrequited hots for Maggie Gyllenhaal, a six on her best day.

I mean, he goes to a restaurant with Natasha, and starts simping over Maggie?

If only this had come out during cookie season, I would have sent this out to advertise for my daughter’s troop.
