Had dinner last night at Ocean 44.  Outstanding in all aspects.  Sat at the bar with Mrs. Smwhorn (sorry, no pics, I'll cut you, man).  Great drinks.  Great service.  Great atmosphere.  Even better food.
Played both Talking Stick courses.  Both are worth it.
Casino is shit. It was clean and not all that smoke filled but I could not believe how crowded it was.  There were literally no tables last night after we got back from dinner where there was more than one seat at the table.  Most tables were completely full.  Sportsbook was packed.
Lost both the over at 47.5 and the -18.5.
Won Auburn +1.5.

First week of the snowbirds return for winter everything was crowded.

My wife has a work thing in Scottsdale in February and I'm thinking about tagging along. I don't golf, but I love hiking, drinking/eating, and history stuff. Any activity recs if you had three days to yourself there?

Desert Botanical Garden was really quite enjoyable for a serene nature experience on a pleasant day in February. Especially if you’re traveling from colder weather.

When we were there a few years ago they had a butterfly exhibit that had a hatch going on which was really wild/cool.  Not sure on how often that happens.

Definitely come. Hiking is all over. Drinking and eating is all over, and there's a fair amount of history around the state.

The Phoenician, in particular the Canyon Suites, is one of my happy places. We love doing a long weekend there at least once a year to lay around the pool relaxing and hitting up all of our favorite places from when we lived there. It takes a week to detox from that trip.

We just got back from visiting my wife’s aunt and uncle in Desert Mountain (N Scottsdale). The wife and I broke away and did Cafe Monarch one night. Really awesome place.
