July 2, 20187 yr That's impressive. You steal the national Women's Assistant coach of the year. But really impressive: Quote Sion comes to Austin after two very successful seasons coaching the throwers at Stanford. He coached 11 All-Americans in two seasons and helped the Cardinal's women throwers to 31 points at 2018 NCAA Championships. All four of Sion's women throwers, who would have finished ninth as a team alone, earned first-team All-America honors and podium finishes in Eugene. Damn.
July 13, 20187 yr Wait, she coached at Stanford in the 90s for two years but most recently, HS cross-country?

August 30, 20187 yr Season begins tomorrow with the Texas invitational. Hopefully LHN covers some more events this year
November 9, 20187 yr Texas qualifies both men's and women's team for nationals, taking second at the (extremely weak) South Central Regionals. I've been following UT athletics for close to 15 years now and it always seems as if Arkansas and Texas are the two qualifers to nationals.

March 31, 20196 yr I had the relays on for a while after the baseball game was over, and at one point they had a packaged piece with coach Floreal where he talks about not realizing how popular Texas relays is. I figured anyone in the sport would be aware of Texas relays.
April 24, 20196 yr This past weekend at the Long Beach Invitational Longhorn Ex Ryan Crouser threw 22.74 (74' 7") to put him #6 on the (all-time) list (probably #1 on the non-steroid list). UT Soph Tripp Piperi threw 21.01 (68' 11.25") to put him second on the (all-time UT list) behind Crouser. https://www.iaaf.org/records/all-time-toplists/throws/shot-put/outdoor/men/senior https://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=9618&do=videos&video_id=273484
