Just saw a highlight on Sportscenter from the indoor meet at Texas Tech, and recently saw a photo of the indoor facility at Arkansas.  Got me wondering — what doesn’t Texas have an indoor track facility?  And, yes, I understand it costs $$$, but you’d think at some point over the years one would have been built.

Track and Field great Ryan Crouser breaks world record

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Texas Track and Field legend Ryan Crouser broke the indoor shot put world record on Sunday at the American Track League meet held at the Randal Tyson Track Center. Crouser broke the record on his first attempt, launching the orb 22.82m/74-10.5 – a full 6.25 inches further than Randy Barnes' 1989 world-record mark.

The 2016 Olympic gold medalist outdoors, Crouser also had throws of 22.70m/74-5.75 (No. 2 throw all-time indoors), 22.48m/73-9 and 21.03m/69-0 on Sunday in Fayetteville. In addition to his Sunday exploits indoors, Crouser also ranks third all-time on the men's outdoor shot put list at 22.91m – a mark he set last July in Marietta, Georgia.

During his historic career on the Forty Acres, Crouser was a four-time NCAA shot put champion (2016 Indoor; 2014 Indoor & Outdoor; 2013 Outdoor), a nine-time USTFCCCA First Team All-American and two-time second-team honoree. Crouser was named the 2014 USTFCCCA Men's National Field Event Athlete of the Year after his national-title sweep, and was twice nominated for Big 12 Male Athlete of the Year. Just months after concluding his collegiate career, Crouser won the gold medal in the shot put at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. His 22.52m/73-10.5 effort four-and-a-half years ago set an Olympic record. He still holds both of UT's indoor and outdoor shot put records to this day.

I can't stop watching this clip, it looks like she has a spring in her left shoe.

So the womens team finished in the top 10 and the mens team finished in the top 15 at the NCAA indoor national championship

not bad I guess.

Amazing recovery - thanks for posting! I see his brother did well at the meet too.
