I’m sorry, but is your position that our turn around as a program is only due to Quinn? Because that would be the dumbest fucking take on a thread full of the dumbest takes around. Our program is where it’s at because of the 85 guys and 11 coaches that have turned the tide. You’re a fucking noting if you think otherwise.

Quinn is one cog in the engine, but he’s sure as shit not THE reason for our recent prosperity.

Disagree. He’s one of the 5-10 single humans involved in this massive turnaround. We’re 11-1. Enjoy it asshole.

I am hpapy for Quinn, beating aggy and OU in the same season is something to be happy about as a Texas fan.

Imagine coming here tonight and trying to have a balanced conversation about a QB that had a very up and down game. LMAO.

Played baseball most of my life, not at all relatable to me honestly. Obviously they are drastically different sports(breaking news I know). You are part of the problem, not the solution. You are however entitled to an opinion no matter how bad it is though.

Right.

He moved much better than I anticipated and I give him a lot of credit for gutting through basically the entire game when he was clearly hobbled. He definitely ain’t a pussy.

The turnovers are what they are at this point. His arm angle leads to way too many tipped passes. I’ll give some credit to the A&M guy on the fumble as that was a good play but we shouldn’t have put Quinn in that situation in the first place. Bring in Arch if you want to do RPO/zone read stuff in the redzone.

Right.

Oh ok.  Being shutout on the second half is normal and acceptable

Keep hating, we won, had the big lead partly because of QE, Hook'em.

That's simple ball security coaching.  Let him sit in a session with coach Choice or something.  Aside from that, I'm glad he found the confidence to scramble for the sticks, something he attempted three times tonight and we otherwise hadn't seen in ages.

There’s one single QB in college football that can layer that pass into Blue in the corner. One. It’s Quinn Ewers. Name another QB that could reliably layer that ball in there. I’ll hang up and listen.

I think that was a combo of confidence , convenience and luck. I could be wrong though. QE haters will tell you that was a terrible pass and should have been picked.

Yeah the turnovers were really bad. He definitely needs to not do that going forward. But outside of that, he played at a level tonight that can propel us to a NC. He had good pocket awareness, scrambled to both run and throw for first downs. He had some beautiful down the field throws. We’re unstoppable with that version of Quinn. LFG

All our other quarterbacks in the last 14 years who were 11-1 and took us to back-to-back conference championships were so much better!

There is some serious unappreciation of aggy tears on this thread right now, and I find it really very puzzling.

Was the fumble on zone read? It wasn’t on an RPO, since he didn’t throw it or hand it off. To me (not sober) it looked like the pass wasn’t there so he just decided to say fuck it and see what he could make happen on the ground.

Please show us a few more pics of you paying Quinn to take pictures with you. It’s super relevant to the debate.

fucking unreal do you not remember 2010-2023

yep.  lot of dumb motherfuckers on this site.

I will say this in defense of him. The turnovers were uncharacteristic. Taking care of the ball has not really been an issue since Georgia. That's one thing he's been good at.

He went out there less than 100%, hit a deep ball, drew some flags, made off schedule plays, and appeared to be cruising to a dominant win, until he drove us into a ditch.

Since I'm the only person here who has actually spent time with him, I think it is relevant to the debate, since I can add the perspective of him as an actual person. And I never paid a penny, bro.

Also caught a pass from Quinn, haha.

And I'll keep supporting him for the rest of his career, unlike the losers here who post their endless, vitriolic bile who have no connection or concern for the players of the team and school they purportedly "support."

That wasn’t a layered throw.  He threw it into the corner on one on one coverage and his receiver made a great play. He did have a near Int layering a throw into three aggy defenders

James Brown is famous for battling through an ankle injury against Aggy and leading us to win. He was 12-29 for 149 yards, 0 TDs and an INT. Just for some perspective.

Whatever it was, it’s the type of play Ewers probably just needs to eat and live to see another day, which I guess he was kind of trying to do but he danced a little too much.

Still a great play by the DL punching it out.

Just as an example, how many idiots were calling for PK to be fired after year two? How many wanted both our DB coaches fired after last season? The idiocy continues. I certainly defended PK, look it up.

My SkyCam rewatch is focusing on Goosby so I'm not watching Quinn down to down as critically, but good lord this shit is why he's so maddening. These are on the same drive. Two of the best throws of his career. Both just awesome throws.

It was a RPO but the WR wasn't open so he kept it trying to pick up the 1st down. He didn't put the ball away until late and the aggy edge made a great play.

If the defender had turned around, he would have intercepted that ball in the corner. Also, right before Arch came in to run for that TD, Quinn threw into triple coverage and the ball was dropped. Had he caught it, it might have been a 98 yard race to our end zone. Quinn got lucky both times. We got lucky.

Quinn made a few good throws, but Manning coulda made the same throws, plus he has the ability to turn it up the field for twenty or fifty yards. Quinn's luck is gonna run out against a really good team.

How would you like to see us struggle like this all the way to the National Title game? For argument sakes, in each win, it's the D that pulls it out. Ewers continues to make major errors, but we make it and we get to play Oregon. Then Quinn's luck runs out. When we could have Arch in there piling on points, we have Ewers taking points away. Maybe it turns out that with Arch we would have won by three TDs. (Had we gotten that deep into the playoffs with a steadily improving Arch, we likely would have found ourselves with an offense that is unstoppable, and we would kick Oregon's ass.) Nice scenario. We get to live through one of the most magical seasons any team has ever had...

But instead, Quinn turns the ball over four times and we end up getting our butts kicked. He can't run. He chokes. He turns the ball over. Sark has to take the RPO out of his game plan. This team deserves better.

Being at the game I was impressed with Quinn. Our receivers were getting jammed up and he was still finding guys. He simultaneously almost sold the game though. Guess that’s who he is.

I didn't even realize Blue caught that. I thought it hit the ground out the back of the endzone. Crazy play.

Really wish Ewers didn't throw that pick six and we could have had a shut out. The slide fumble was a bang bang play and hard to begrudge that much. The pick was awful though. He really is good for one dumbfuck turnover a game.

That said, he played well overall. Certainly moved functionally. Have to eat my words. I was cackling when aggy got beat down the sideline by an injured Ewers. That's when I realized the aggy back seven was even worse than I thought and Texas would win the game.

Your memory's better than mine. Thanks. A miracle season of amazing plays by an amazing team ending on a giant sour note because one player fucked up big time. Get ready for it if Ewers remains the starter.
