I'm always amazed by people who get rattled because football is being discussed on a football message board. We thought QE would be a generational talent. He wasn't. When healthy, he was a good college QB. He was rarely healthy. If you really think an injured Quinn was our best option last season, so be it. That opinion is going to look silly later this year.

Having a legit shot for a title, with the kind of defense we had last season, is a rare occurence. Opportunities like that need to be maximized.

Sark played the guy he thought maximized that opportunity. People in non football related careers disagree. I know who I’m putting my money on.

Well he only had one turnover in that game and they got pantsed by Skattebo so idk what any other games have to do with it.

A turnover at a very critical point of the game that led to Arizona state tying it up. Stop fucking diminishing that huge turnover on a shitty decision and shitty pass

You are making zero sense.  Unironically.

Belichick should have definitely put Bledsoe back at starter after his injury instead of letting Tom Brady play!

I mean, Bledsoe did start after that.

102 defensive snaps. The dude had 46 rushing yards at half with a ton of attempts. If the offense could have stayed on the field, I bet his 2nd half performance wouldn’t have been nearly as productive.

I got love for Quinn. What he did to OU was incredible. He put it on A&M too, before he tried to give it to them. Great representative of the program as well. He was the catalyst for the roster upgrade under Sark too. There’s tons of reasons to praise Quinn’s time at Texas. His Jr year at Texas is not one of them in my opinion. We didn’t need the transcendent player the recruiting services said he was, just a steady hand to make a play or two. 17 turnovers in 14 games is ridiculous. Sam Ehlinger would have won a national title with this roster. Shane probably would have gotten it done too. I don’t even know why I’m contributing to this thread anymore, it just makes me sad. The Texas defense was great, no one pantsed them.

Idk I think you should stop a midget from throwing a 40 yard TD and catching a 60 yard pass regardless. My expectations may be too high though.

Blaming the defense for the ASU game isnt the flex you think it is. With Manning, that game wouldve been over in the 2nd quarter.

Lmao Shane

all we needed was a qb who could move the chains and not turn the ball over. just a prototypical game manager with some moxie. if he was actually an accurate passer then even better. but we did not need a whole lot from the qb position to win either of the last two titles, particularly this last one.

we just had one of the ~5 best defenses in school history, with all americans and future all americans/nfl starters at every level. we probably could have won the national title if we got a fg every on every drive. that’s how stifling our defense was. i doubt we’ve had another team in program history that less needed its qb to be great in order for the team to be great. you’re in here manically replying to every single post with some one-line, throw away BS as if it’s funny, when you should be silently bummed that we wasted the last two teams on quinn ewers.

We reached our potential. Lost to the best team in the country. Arch wasn’t changing that. I’m good. Hope you find peace with it though.

i don’t care how much a shit show that a thread becomes, the people who come into the thread to complain about how much the thread sucks are the dumbest people on this board. absolutely no one is making you enter this thread, and you already know what’s going on in here. coming in here to complain about what’s going on in here is even dumber than not being able to admit that QE was never one of our better players or claiming that it’s impossible to know if Arch was any better last than QE last season.

Go fuck yourself. "No one is making you enter this thread," I'm genuinely interested in news about what's happening about with the guy and I've got to read your stupid fucking bullshit every time I open this thread.

I want to be clear - this isn't a commentary on Ewers or his qualities as a player. I think that you, personally, suck as a presence on this board. You have lost the plot and it is a fucking beating to open a thread and see you shit all over it. Please, please, please take this to heart - you are awful and I wish you would take your shit and leave. It seems like people on this board have some weird affection for you so maybe at some point you contributed something of value, but that time has clearly passed.

You suck. Just know that Ewers is going to be rich and love by people around him forever, and you are going to be stuck being some sweaty weirdo that no one likes in real life.

Seriously. Fuck you.

the worst.  his tendency to wilt like a wet paper bag when shit gets real in the pocket would keep him off my draft board completely.  when he gets lit up on a blindside blitz in the NFL he’s going to forget how to play the position like he did against georgia at dkr.  and I like quinn.

Ohio State started the war. They were the aggressor. Why is that so hard for you to admit? Do you own a suit?

Shane Smith is a pretty good songwriter and has some good energy on stage, but agree to disagree.

two of those TDs came in OT because bert missed a chip shot FG that would have won us the game. Quinn was pretty terrible during regulation and if Texas doesn’t have a pumpkin pie haircutted freak for a kicker then QE’s statistical day vs ASU sucks.

You don't understand. If Ricky Williams doesn't rush for 6,000 of his career yards, his statistical career at Texas sucks. DEBATE ME LIKE A MAN MOTHERFUCKER

remind me again which one of us is unstable and spazzes out every time someone else has a differing opinion?

me: ”you can’t play football with a torn oblique.”

you: “GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU FAT, 50-SOMETHING, NEVER HAS BEEN PIECE OF SHIT.”

also you: “you guys derka is mentally ill and unstable and he ruins this board for everyone.”

Jesus, Quinn got us into TWO makeable fg attempts before overtime.  He can’t make the kicks himself.  Now,  listen to Jazz man, respect the objective QB ratings, get outta here.   Any idiot can point at important plays in that game.  After the first ASU fg, every single play was crucial to the game outcome.  We won.

Quinn was maddeningly unpredictable and erratic. World beater one minute, timid the next, stupid decision the next, followed by a gutsy run or unbelievable throw. He was never a steady presence on the field.

But he was a steady presence off the field. With all of the potential for Arch drama, he always carried that part with a steady hand. He was QB1 and repped the position, the team, and the university well. He also steered the team from dogshit recent history to two consecutive playoff appearance, beat the hell out of our rivals, won at Bama and Michigan, and give us a victory lap around the Big 12 and a conference championship appearance year one in the SEC. Just because our expectations were higher doesn't diminish any of that. Getting us those victories, and being the steady leader on and off the field -- that solidifies him as a BAMF in my book. As much as I'm looking forward to what the future holds for Texas football, I damn sure appreciate what Quinn gave us, and I hope he has a great NFL future.

#24250

LMAO that anyone cares Quinn isn't running the 40.  Neither is Sanders, Dart, Ward, Howard or any of the other top picks.

Troll more.
