Yeah I couldn't remember him looking as easy and smooth as Ewers, but he was the first big-arm guy who popped into my head.

And yeah, Marino is a much better comparison.

I have no understanding why people on the interwebs decide to go all in and have an axe to grind with others. It's just bizarre to me

Because your mother is a whore.

Big play negated by a questionable call, Quinn gets the yardage right back and then his jabroni TE puts the ball on the carpet.

#28160

Quinn hits him right in the hands and the idiot turns it into a tip drill, good Lord.

Welcome to Miami Dolphins football.

Not a great decision but you'd like his WR to fight for the ball a little better there.

Honestly just a really good play by the CB but Wease needs to go get the ball.

The difference is a receiver who catches with his body vs hands. That was the same route combo Sark runs. A post with a dagger or deep dig coming behind it. It was thrown on the break.

This is the third or fourth deflected pass/INt I’ve seen on red zone. Happened to the Giants, the Dolphins and the Browns so far. Dang.

Quinn slips on the QB sneak and they turn it over on 4th and 1. Not great.

I will say this WR/TE assortment he has to work with is fucking ass.

Meanwhile Burrow just threw a ball up for grabs in double coverage and Chase came down with it 🤣😂

That's OK because their defense sucks as well.

Quinn bro, you can't be throwing 50/50 balls to a receiver corp that has no interest in fighting for 50/50 balls.

Yep. Under the circumstances that was not an ideal throw.

I don’t see how the HC of the Dolphins keeps job. 🤷🏻‍♀️ there isn’t much fight in that whole team. Tua benched and so on. And the coach dresses like an emo dipshit that’s 15 years old.

Quinn Ewers died on the cross for every teammate's sins.

Purdy is a mediocre hack and gets gifted the niners as Mr. Irrelevant and Quinn gets stuck with this dumpster fire franchise.

Pretty good line. Neither pick was awful. The bad QB sneak was probably the worst thing he did all day.

Bengals D is shitty but so are Miami's skill-position guys.

Not sure he's an NFL starter but I think he will hang around the league for awhile and cash checks.

He’ll be a fine/great OC in the booth.  Just not a HC on the sideline.

Hook’em!!!

In fine Longhorn tradition, he's gonna be a good backup QB.

Nothing wrong with that. It’s damn good work if you can get it.

His stat line isn't any worse than Tua, but it's also not noticeably better.

Tua has thrown a ton of WTF balls all season, though. Quinn wasn't doing that.

Yeah, but Tua is probably severely brown damaged at this point. Ewers should be able to learn going forward.

True, but Ewers was a rookie in his first start, Tagovailoa is a 6th year player in his 5th year of starter reps. I don't know more than anyone else if Ewers will become a productive NFL QB but if you have a 1st game rookie showing no noticeable difference with your 5th year starter then the answer is obvious on who should get the PT.

We'll see if there's still no noticeable difference when the season ends.

Tough day for Quinn. But not like he was irredeemably horrible or anything. He still throws a nice ball but it just has a tendency to float for like an extra half second too long.

Every throw looks like he is throwing off his back foot.

Pretty sure it's an optical illusion.  He drags his back toe on the ground for basically his entire follow-through.  Most QBs tire swing the leg around around or flip it out at the knee like they are kicking a hacky sack, so it's more obvious there's no weight on it.

image.png.b894fd91cda925162ecc08d6b5e17e73.png

It's a little bit more obvious he is doing the hackysack from the front angle, just dragging the toe.

Cincy's D is ass but he threw for 8.5 YPA and put 21 points on the board. I thought all of his throws that I saw looked great, frankly. He missed one down the sideline and both picks were reasonable balls and decisions. He didn't take a sack all day. He showed some pretty good mobility/athleticism. He looked like an NFL player.

That said - the question for him is what does it look like when he's getting hit and pass-pro is breaking down. We already knew he's great with time to throw. It's his toughness and pocket-presence that he will need to display if he wants to stick around and/or compete for a starting job.
