If you're a 3rd stringer, you have to play really well in the pre-season to have any chance of playing time in the regular season. Sam was lights out in the pre-season the year he got to start a game where he proceeded to shit the bed. It wad painful to watch him not take advantage of his once in a lifetime opportunity.

Only one good throw but they got the fg to tie it up after chi scored the td

The camera views do us no favors, but the two receivers in view weren't open on the last throw. Ewers threw it for a comeback catch, but the ball just a smidgen too late. Either get it out sooner or needed more zip, but no one was really open on that side of the field and think it would have been short of the first even if caught.

catch the ball asshat

nice throw, good catch and run

He didn't get a lot of help from his receivers. 3 of those first 3 incompletions were on-target, but the WR didn't bring it in; another looked like a miscommunication. His second completion was a little high, but the WR was able to bring it in.

Nailed his 3rd crossing route just now... he's been money over the middle.

Pass deflected at the line. Something seems familiar with this

Some really nice throws then some wtf sequences, just like old times. But damn, I’d love a nfl minimum or slightly above salary for holding a clipboard. Hatas gunna hate, playas gonna uh hold that clipboard. Beeotch!

Don't fault that sack but 2nd fumble. 1st fumble I forgive, but not the second. Protect the damn ball.

I can't really see because the split screen is so small but that looked like Quinn finally threw a decent pass that was dropped.

NFL Network could have let them have the last couple of plays at normal size but they must want it forgotten about as soon as possible.

It wasnt THAT bad.

timing was off, receivers can’t catch  and line was ass.

i only watched the final min.

The best take-away from this outing is that this season's QB play is more certainly than ever going to be a distinct improvement in every way.

More down on Wilson than Ewers, but that’s not saying much.

You're right, and I watched it all. About half of those throws were the right throws, and the benchwarmer receivers couldn't haul em in.

But man, it was awfully familiar.

"Zach Wilson on the other hand was the most infuriating period of football I've watched in a while. Every snap the kid just seems like he has a moment of "oh shit I'm a professional QB that's why I have the ball" before panicking."

lol true

I'm very glad it's 2025 and that shit is not our problem anymore.  He's a fucking tease. has the throws, but just can't get it done when the pressure is coming at him like that. better or worse WR or not. furk.

With a good OL he can be a game manager. That's not bad for 7th round.

He “managed” to come in with the lead and lose it once he was in the game.

Imagine being sold this a couple of years ago.

I'm not ready to overreact to a preseason performance where both teams are more interested in staying healthy and trying things out than actually winning the game. He still has many of the same tendencies that bothered us, but he also has an incredible arm and with the right attitude he will improve at reading NFL defenses. He knows he's in a competition with Wilson, so that added mental pressure also could have affected his splitsecond decisionmaking. Zach Wilson has been in the league long enough that we can be pretty confident he's not going to get any better, so if we're grading on a curve I wouldn't feel great about my job security, if I'm Wilson.

Lots of room for improvement for Ewers, that's for damn sure.

I just don’t see this incredible arm.  Looks average to me.

With blindness this bad, the NFL has a referee job open for you.

if there were a hall of fame for throwing drills against air he would be first ballot.

Both though fumbles shouldn’t have happened
