My wife was in a conversation with our lovely, perfect, incredible housekeeper about the issues her youngest is having in middle school. These arent just trivial problems. There are violent issues at this school. By the end of the convo, the housekeeper mentioned that she had asked the last owners of this house for ideas about getting her moved out of their county for middle school and into ours. My wife wants me to look into it. What’s the process of getting this done and what are the punishments if caught for both parties? Can I just have them take over the gas bill and have them show up at a school zoned to my zip? Not interested in judgement. Just interested in the process. Will move to IPIHB if that makes it safer.

Is your housekeeper hot?

She’s incredible at her job. Only reason I’m considering this.

Lot of surly virgins, start setting her up on dates, based on their school district

There are a lot of folks around here who do this. All they had to do was sign over educational rights and her address with the school needs to be your address or an address within the district.

My wife used to bust people whose kids don't live in the proper attendance zones, so there's that piece too.

" Why are you so tired all the time, Megan?"

"It's such a long drive to school..."( Houston commute)

The mains times I’ve heard it being a problem is sports.  If the kid ends up being good at anything other coaches will rat.  My dad was a baseball coach and once had a rival coach follow one of his players to his house outside the ISD’s borders and turn him into UIL

The only other time I’ve heard of this is due to parents or the student filling out the wrong address on a form.

I don’t remember any punishment other than making them ineligible for competition.

Sports will not be an issue with this kid.

This is the classic first step in a Carney House-Takeover.

Does your district accept transfers?  Districts with extra space want transfers because the money follows the kid.

This.  Although it might be a little late for this year.  RRISD had out-of-district enrollment in July.

Don't really know ISDs in that area, but:

Alief accepts transfers: https://www.aliefisd.net/loe
Stafford had a window to transfer, maybe you could beg your way in: https://www.staffordmsd.org/become-a-spartan/non-resident-student-transfer
Spring Branch has a transfer window: https://www.springbranchisd.com/studentsfamilies/choice-program/about-the-transfer-process

Bottom line is they want the bucks and an empty seat does them no good.

It would be FBISD to HISD. They are under the impression it can’t be done by a normal transfer.

Hmm, check out the info here: https://www.houstonisd.org/Page/129737

That page is specific to one Houston high school, but it has a phone number to the school transfer dept for all of HISD.

Or https://www.houstonisd.org/domain/54200 specific to middle schools.

You may not be able to get the kid into a specific school without doing something like renting an apartment in the attendance zone for the school, but you may be able to find a place somewhere in HISD for a transfer.
