Porcupines are cool as shit. Teach your doggos to stay away from them (or get a fence).

That's the weird thing, this happened inside a fenced pen.  The dogs definitely do not have a way out.  Not sure how the porcupine got in.  Maybe burrowed?

Ask your friend.

Caught several in a fence line snare before. Maybe a catch ‘em alive trap with some ripe fruit?

They are excellent climbers.

Any trees bordering or growing over pen?

Yep, trees look to be the most likely route now

Bet the dog won’t sniff one again.  Probably not a worry now.

I would suggest from a safe distance.

My dog is at the vet right now, getting stitched-up from a badger fight. He’s killed seven, and five of those have sent him to the vet ER.

Hopefully OP’s Great Pyrenees is smarter than the whatever-breed I adopted from the humane society.

Some dogs seems to always go back and touch that hot stove over and over.....just like people I guess.

What's the dog lingo equivalent of "Hold my beer; y'all watch this."

Most only need one encounter with a badger, porcupine, or rattlebug.

I’m a poster in the AA thread- I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Like owner, like dog made me laugh out loud this morning.

Necro-bump.  Just happened to one of my dogs and my daughter's dog in our back yard.  Crap.

Any solutions for ridding our yard of this creature?

Pump action shot gun.  I hate them.

I’m guessing the neighbors would call the cops.

Sprayed parts of property line with ammonia + water - high ammonia concentration.  Armadillo just outside the fence line scurried away.  My dog that was unscathed has 3 armadillo kills in our back yard in the past 6 years.  Glad we did not increase that count.

It's an evolutionary selection event.  If Fido doesn't know better, he'll remove himself from the gene pool.
