December 11, 20241 yr 2 minutes ago, Rex Kramer said: Smart then. Dumb now. lol no he isn’t going to get offered by OU. Hence why I said “school like that”.
December 11, 20241 yr 1 minute ago, Rex Kramer said: Heard the same. OC and players were underwhelmed by MM and wanted an upgrade. It is the coaches job to upgrade the roster. Even if it means recruiting over a current player. We see it all the time in the other sports.
December 11, 20241 yr Just now, Rex Kramer said: He will not get significant money from any school with a pedigree like OU. He will not start at a school, unless it’s an emergency, at a school with a better program than Duke. You mean an emergency like OUs situation. It sounds like Miami and Auburn are both interested. Not really sure what point you’re making.
December 11, 20241 yr 14 minutes ago, Rex Kramer said: He’d never start at any of those schools. Maybe Miami. OU would’ve had an emergency situation 5-7 years ago. They can attract a much better QB than MM and will. Or roll with JA. “He’d never start… well maybe he might” Do you think Miami and Auburn are interested in bringing him in as a backup? That wouldn’t make much sense given the QB situations at those schools. OU has an emergency situation now. That said that won’t be going Malik as it looks like the new OC plays a much different style. Again, I’m just not sure what point you’re making. Edited December 11, 20241 yr by hobbes2702

Good grief, if he's not good enough for Duke then he's not going to any P5 program most likely. He wants to start so he probably needs to be looking at the MAC or Mountain West.
December 11, 20241 yr I don't know where else to post this, but have a question about going into the portal. If you go in the portal now and with the playoffs extending longer, is it possible for someone in the portal to get picked up by a school in the playoffs, enroll, and actually play in a playoff game?
December 11, 20241 yr 21 minutes ago, TreatyOak said: And corporate offices. Hell, Jerritt Elliot recruited another P4 setter to compete with Ella Swindle, who led us to a title as a freshman. And then she lost the job! Coaches have to win or they get fired. You upgrade your roster when there's a better option and someone was a better option than MM.
December 11, 20241 yr 1 minute ago, Rex Kramer said: That he wants to play and isn’t going somewhere to sit. Those schools would love to have him as depth but have better options than MM to start. Who do Miami and Auburn have to start at QB next year? The other name I hear Auburn considering is Ashton Daniels. He ain’t exactly a world beater.

Lord, you can't even play for a different SEC school if you transfer after spring ball, you think a player would be eligible to play for a CFP team if they transferred before the playoffs?

MM wasn’t a problem but they can do better, yes. No dude. Come on man. Don’t know. But whomever it is will be better. Its Duke. You could put VY there and he'd go 9-3

December 11, 20241 yr They played nobody! Their 5 conf wins were some of the worst teams in the ACC, their non-conf sucked ass and they lost to SMU, Miami and GT. They didn't even play Clemson, Syracuse or Louisville.
December 11, 20241 yr I guess I missed the all stars on dukes offense that are getting drafted or transferring
December 11, 20241 yr Based on the lack of great teams (and QBs) this year, VY would have Duke in the playoff and probably win it all. Jk, but maybe not?

Duke fans are pissing me off though blaming Maalik for leaving after more or less giving Leonard a pass last year. I wonder why. December 18, 20241 yr If they pick up Calzada too, not 100% sure he beats out Calzone and the freshman who looked pretty good against us in the 2nd half.
December 18, 20241 yr It’s not real, people. If it isn’t Matt zenitz or Hayes fawcett, be very skeptical.

Meaning that the judge decided that he was not going to enter an order against the NCAA without hearing the NCAA’s side. They had the hearing on that a few days ago, in which both sides got to present their arguments for why they will ultimately win the case. The judge hasn’t yet ruled on that. If the judge rules in Pavia’s favor in this injunction hearing, he will have necessarily concluded that Pavia is likely to succeed on the merits. If that comes, then any restriction on an individual athlete is likely unsustainable. Pavia granted injunction, another year of eligibility. This necessarily includes a finding that he is likely to prevail on the merits of his argument that the NCAA's eligibility restrictions, as applied to him, are a violation of antitrust laws. https://www.on3.com/nil/news/vanderbilt-qb-diego-pavia-granted-eligibility-for-2025/ I haven't read the order yet, but this is another nail in the coffin of the NCAA's irrelevance. NCAA should've settled with him and given him another year. This is a big one.
December 19, 20241 yr It's pretty clear Duke moved in a different direction and this wasn't Murphy looking for some huge payday.

December 19, 20241 yr I was afraid Maalik would go to OU. Instead they got some guy who just lost 15-14 to Wyoming at a P5 school. Go to Oregon State or wherever you like and get PAID, Murph!

December 19, 20241 yr Seems like an odd choice but wish him well none the less. Pac-2 in the game! They just need to be dyslexic and call it 2-pac
December 19, 20241 yr beggars can't be choosers. He was something like the 10th best-rated QB in the transfer portal, IIRC.
