I, for one, find it very brave that McGuire decided to give the student managers massive diarrhea a few days before the game

The only question that matters for this game is this:  How good is the UT secondary at catching the ball?

Because Donny, bless his heart, is going to throw the ball right to them.  Can they catch?  If so, well, congratulations on the not-so-hard-fought victory ahead of time.

Speaking of drops, I wonder what Blake Gideon is up to these days.

Living up to the adage “those who can’t do teach?” (With regards to interceptions).

Dodged Beth doing pxp for the game. Stuck with Rod Gilmore on color but thankfully she is being shipped to Cincinnati for the IU game.
Some will never understand the joy and relief this carries. Only thing worse would be Beth with Lowell.

I remember when OU rushed Bradford back from a shoulder injury only to be destroyed by Aaron Williams who ended his season. Would rather Quinn not aggravate it.

I told the entire room I was in, on Saturday, that they are going to try an onside kick at some point and the first line has to stay FUCKING FACED FORWARD. As a former kicker, i was dissapoint.

Thank you! This is page 5 in the play manual for "plucky upstart upsets Big Name".

Score. Onside kick at a weird time. Run a trick play immediately after recovery.

To be fair, their trick play didn't work as a trick play. The intended receiver was triple covered. Should have been a lazy interception. However, the DB's hips betrayed him, he did a sort of "hokey pokey" thing, and the pass was caught.

I wasn't clear.  On Thursdays, the NCAA publishes a handful of the plays that they were asked to review (or are reviewing for training purposes) from the week prior.

This type of appeal is new, so I don't know what they are going to do.  I suspect it might come sooner and that the conference/school/player would know first.

Probably announce it at halftime of the Tech game.

He did the hokey pokey, but forgot to turn himself around.

Consider also the many times that players have returned from injury because they are ready to play again and no further injury resulted. If Quinn is cleared by our medical staff and feels comfortable enough to play then I certainly hope he's out there.

Any chance Tech may start Morton at QB?

McGuire said both QBs are going to play but Morton has looked even worse than Smith. 2 interceptions in 17 passing attempts.

Is there any official word from lubbuttock that Shough has been ruled out for Saturday?  I could’ve sworn I heard that he was going to be starting

McGuire said he might be back by Oklahoma State.

But didn't sound optimistic even for that.  With the bye coming after OSU, more than likely Shough doesn't return until WVU (10/22).

We need Ewers every game. It's a completely different offense without him. If he can throw without pain then he's going to be starting.

No.

If he's healthy enough to be waiting in the wings to save the day but isn't starting, our coaches are beyond stupid.

Disagree with both counts. Throwing with pain is one thing.  Taking a huge hit before he is ready and losing him for the rest of the season is another.

Cleared to play includes cleared to be hit   If they think he’s one hit away from re-injury they won’t clear him to play.

You don’t have to. It’ll be “player safety” and that’s that.

Wait until you read the justification...

"(Harris) was clearly a passer with his eyes focused downfield and thus was DEFENSELESS and was it in the facemask - hit in the head - with significant force."

If his eyes were focused downfield why did he tuck the ball and lower the shoulder?

I mean hell @Dahobbsfo8nd the exact play in their casebook. Such fucking bullshit.

Yeah, that is bullshit. They need to identify what indication of targeting existed. I see none.

Wait, a QB in the pocket is a defenseless player?

His eyes weren’t downfield. They were staring right into in D-Mo’s rage-filled glare as he was right in front of Harris about to murder him. /refs

New in 2022

It shouldn't matter if he was defenseless. There was no indication of targeting on the play. Again, from the 2022 NCAA Case Book of things not targeting:

I suspect the NCAA’s appeal denial was influenced by the “breaking news” out of Van Zandt county of Overshown’s slap on the wrist way back in Dec 2021.

This is the same county where the DA, Tonda Curry, is a Tech Law grad. Convenient timing for this to come out the week of the Tech game.

Overshown ruling just means he'll be fresh as fuck for a second half butt fucking of taco tech.

I would say he should play angry in the second half, but if he plays angry then the refs will find reason to kick him out of the game and suspend him for WVU

So my wish list is:

QE for the 1st Q and a 28 point lead

Card for the 2nd and another round of scores

W and RoJo for the 3rd and scores

Malik for the 4th to put them to the sword

63-12 slaughter and they can eat the left over tortillas!🤘

Guys we can just assume going forward for the next 2 years we are gonna get fucked by the B12.

Yep, this is compete bullshit and we should make a fuss but we never do. This example from the case book clearly includes that the contact was facemask to head. The exact justification they used. They don't know their own fucking rules.

I’d only be slightly less pissed off was called roughing the passer. It was a strong form tackle. Did their face masks hit? Sure. But it was a clean, properly leveled sack

Who takes his place in the first half?

I can’t wait to get out of this chickenshit conference.

They bevy of just ridiculously bad calls (defensive holding, phantom fumble, recovery, bumping into HC, no safety and now this “defenseless qb” bullshit.

Fuck this conference and its shitty collection of referees.
