September 18, 20223 yr I mean, first road game, still likely no QE. I buy it. I think it’s a tad low considering Tech is on their backup QB and they don’t have Bijan or RoJo
September 18, 20223 yr Oh I’d jump on Horns at -5. Tech is rather average. UTSA is better. That line will be going up. I like Horns in a 7-13 point victory. Edited September 18, 20223 yr by Porterhouse
September 18, 20223 yr Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt Tortilla rush the field and wreck their goalposts after beating the same Cougar High that were just soundly beaten at home by the mighty Kansas Jayhawks? Both teams being on QB 2 nullifies any disadvantage of Ewers being out, mudhole in Lubbuttock.
September 18, 20223 yr I don’t bet but I’d put a looooot of money on that -16 OSU vs badger score. That will be a 3-4 TD win

September 18, 20223 yr I'd jump on Texas. Our O-line is pitiful and you should be able to take advantage of that. Defense is capable but we are going to have difficulty scoring. I'd guess Texas by 14. e: And maybe take the under Edited September 18, 20223 yr by Brian Fantana
September 18, 20223 yr Another terrible line. Not like we've beaten the spread by almost 30 points combined the past two weeks. Wonder what Connelly has it at.
September 18, 20223 yr If the game was at 7 p.m., it would be one thing. But yeah, I'd be on Texas. Seems fishy low. I don't know how good Texas is this season, but I'm fairly confident they aren't terrible. That's a big improvement over last year.

September 18, 20223 yr i don't understand gambling but i do believe our money should be gun-shy given the way the season has unfolded, so in a vacuum that means the line has to go up to get our money to come in, right?
September 18, 20223 yr I'll be interested to see how that A&M-Arky line moves. I was thinking Arkie -2 or a pick em rather than Aggy favored. But I guess the Hogs struggled at home yesterday before waking up in the 4th quarter.

September 18, 20223 yr I’m sure I’ll see my granddaughter sportin’ her Red Raider T-shirt sometime this week.

September 18, 20223 yr Hahaha, 35.5 total for Iowa/Rutgers. The Baylor/Iowa St. 43.5 total is really low but instinctively I'd still want to bet the under. That sets off evil sportsbook trap bet alarms.

September 18, 20223 yr Bet the under. Both teams have decent defenses and little offense (especially Tech). Both will be rolling out back up QBs, but Card is serviceable. Smith is terrible, at least in that offense. Although it's another mediocre squad this year, the Horns should roll as Tech is in full rebuild mode with tons of youth on the field and the sideline. If Sark sticks with the run and just buries them, I can see the score getting out of hand, but no way it combines for that many points.

September 18, 20223 yr Texas being a 5 point favorite, on the road, with Vegas likely basing it on QE still being out should tell you how bad Tech is. This is not a good team. Their offense is way below average with their backup QB, their special teams are bad, and their defense looks like it's above average.
September 18, 20223 yr 67.5 feels absurdly high, so of course the over will be shattered at halftime.

Tech is improved defensively over a year ago, there’s a good chance we will still be trotting out our backup QB and this program hasn’t proved they can win semi-big games on a road in a while. The line doesn’t seem too egregious to me. We should be happy with a win of any type.

Texas still covered easily against UTSA after sleepwalking for a half.

Yeah but this program has proven they can win on the road in Lubbock having won every single matchup there since 2008. What does our program's ability to win in Waco or Ames have to do with Lubbock?

Not saying you are wrong, but historical stats like that mean very little, especially to a betting line. Edited September 19, 20223 yr by Hookem2147
September 19, 20223 yr I hammered Texas against UTSA once I knew Card was likely playing. I'm going to do the same with this line against Tech. Does Tech even beat UTSA on a neutral field? I say no chance. The only thing that should give people hesitancy is it being in Lubbock.

September 19, 20223 yr Texas -- 45 Tech -- 24 I'll guess it's the opposite of last week -- we come out and maul them in the 1st half, then they'll get a couple of garbage time scores. Their D has played fairly well, but their QB has already thrown 5 picks. That'll be in his head and I think we can confuse him and get a couple of takeaways and a big lead. Edited September 19, 20223 yr by TexArcher
September 19, 20223 yr Weve covered 5 in Lubbock every game since 2008 (granted one of those was in OT). And only one of those teams (2018) was worth a shit. Edited September 19, 20223 yr by ztejas
September 19, 20223 yr Isn't Texas supposed to be a big public team? 3-0 ATS and this number still seems very low to me.
