September 20, 20223 yr Gotta get this started early... Oddsmakers also foresee a close game, as Texas A&M comes in as the narrow 2.5 point favorites, according to SI Sportsbook, which set an over/under mark of 48 points. Piggy OL vs aggy DL gonna be fun... Edited September 20, 20223 yr by LTtxfan
September 20, 20223 yr that's about even once you discount home-field for Aggie. Should end up being a short game if they both lean on the run. Any predictions?

Pretty sure the game is in Dallas. I'm a little surprised Arkansas isn't favored. I guess their performance against Missouri State has some bettors spooked? All I know is that they looked like dogshit against Rice the week before playing us last year and then put the wood to us. I know Arkansas has some key injuries on defense but I think they should control the trenches in this one.

September 20, 20223 yr Yes, injuries in the secondary, but it's not like aggy's passing game (or offense as a whole) is any real threat. I think this game will present another dip in the aggy roller-coaster.
September 20, 20223 yr Yeah, Arky's got some injuries on defense, but Aggy has scored 14 and 17 in their last two games, and one of those was against App St. Arkansas by something like 42-10. This is the turning poing game, after which not even aggy can deny that 5 to 7 losses are coming and they're gonna lose half of that highly touted recruiting class. And I am in for all of it.
September 20, 20223 yr Author Gonna be a physical game... ground and pound. KJ needs to not turnover the ball... Edited September 20, 20223 yr by LTtxfan

September 20, 20223 yr Wait, I shouldn't have counted aggy out. They still have Devon Achane, who is still better than Bijan Robinson, as the stats through 3 games clearly show: Achane: 52 touches, 252 total yards (4.8 per), 3 TDs. Bijan: 58 touches, 443 total yards (7.6 per), 6 TDs. Advantage: aggy.
September 20, 20223 yr Over at 49 seems out of whack. Given A&M's defense and its inept offense feels like it would take 5 quarters for the teams to get to that #.

So yeah, Jimbo's genius offense managed 7 points on App State, who gave up 63 to UNC and 28 to Troy.
September 20, 20223 yr Pigs secondary being dogshit is a bit concerning. Stewart and Marshall can make things happen, even if it's short routes due to lack of competent OL. Now, if Johnson takes 2-3 solid sacks early, who knows. I hope this is the one that puts them in the ditch for the year. Fuck aggy. Fuck pig too.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I like old school pound the rock running games. Take away the entire fuck-aggy-I-hope-they-lose-forever element, and it'll still be a game I will enjoy watching. Unless aggy wins of course. As for predictions: I predict a lot of whooping and suey-ing, as well as a lot of sore sheep anuses later.
September 20, 20223 yr Rooting for a giant gas leak in that awful stadium. If that doesn’t happen, I predict a pig win 17-10. Fuck them both.

I know Arkansas has some key injuries on defense but I think they should control the trenches in this one. Yes, I think it's overreactions for both teams from last week; A&M beating "the #11 team in the country", and Arkansas struggling against Missouri State, when in reality Miami isn't very good right now and Cristobal played to keep the game close rather than win for recruiting purposes, and Arkansas probably spent the week preparing for A&M while Bobby Petrino pulled out every trick in his book
September 20, 20223 yr If Arkansas can get up by a score then it will be hard for a&m to stay in it with their offensive struggles and Arkansas ability to tee off on passing downs. If the total is close to 48 then that means Arkansas wins in a route imo
September 20, 20223 yr If you put every kickoff into the back of the end-zone, it lowers A&M's odds of winning by like 15%

September 20, 20223 yr Author Pittman says their RB (Raheim Sanders) who leads sec in rushing was recruited as a slot WR. They moved him to RB last year due to team injuries. Also this is the first road game this year for Arky.

September 20, 20223 yr I'm sure it will come down to the last possession, so could go either way. Hopefully whichever team loses (preferably aggy) does so in very painful fashion.
September 20, 20223 yr Arkansas is the better team this year, but they have a tendency to choke at Jerry World, so who knows

Difference between what sportswriters think vs what Vegas oddsmakers think (at least on the initial line). The latter group has overwhelmingly proven to be more knowledgeable than the former….
September 20, 20223 yr Author Found this in an article from "The Athletic" discussing how "The Sack as a diminishing stat, with Georgia as a prime example" Quote "This doesn’t mean sacks can’t be important to some teams. Arkansas has ridden its nation-leading 17 sacks to an unbeaten start"
September 21, 20223 yr This game I put in the same group at A&M vs. Tech when they were both in the Big XII. An entertaining game that I always want to watch, root against A&M, but not heartbroken if they win. Love watching this game.
September 21, 20223 yr Always a close one, I’d lean under but these dipshits will probably burn you with 6 OTs
September 21, 20223 yr The pigs seem to play hard and take the L often. Should be a fun game, going with a 24-17 pig win.
September 21, 20223 yr If there is ever one game for meteor..this is it.aggy, piggy, deathstar all at once
