I just thinks is funny they have so little money they had to beg their sponsor to pay the fine for them, then their fans show up on ESPNU radio trying to talk about how they are more valuable as a program than Texas.  lolz

What does the UT/TTU "rivalry" have to do with the UT/OUsux RIVALRY?

When you strip away the context of the post you were quoting?  Nothing at all.  Within the context of the Joey McGuire quote he was responding to it makes perfect sense.

I see how the double quote thing happens now.

As I posted on another thread, his comments seem to confirm that the tech/UT long term agreement when we move to the SEC is no longer a thing.

Was it ever a thing to begin with or was it just internet speculation?

McGuire is no fool. That little comment probably got Cody Campbell so moist he's gonna land a lucrative extension before he bails to the NFL or Aggy

Who’s Cody Campbell?

Ok, cool. Hook 'em

There's nothing in it for us with a Tech game. It's not even a fun road trip for the fans or a beautiful destination.

You're far too kind.

It's a sucktastic drive to an absolute shithole.

I would rather defer on playing them after we make the jump to the SEC at least on the gridiron for the reasons you state.   Rather go to Ann Arbor, Tempe, Salt Lake City, or a number of other places for a game against a Power 5 for non conference.

We need to get out West (USC, UCLA, Stanford) at least twice every 10 years.   The only reason a deal with Tech made any sense would have been as part of a deal for negating the Big 12 Exit Fee (OU with a similar deal for OSU).  Considering it looks like 2023 season in SEC already off the table, good riddance to Tech.

Can Texas beat Rice?

Most of the time, sure... probably...

Texas and Rice need to play -- for the good of the space program...

I was going to make fun of this but it might be funnier this way. But don't act like it was done on purpose

They are taking an interesting negotiating path. Kind of the equivalent of walking up to the hottest chick in the bar and saying "Come on bitch, suck it! What's the matter? You scared? Come on! I knew you were a tease!"

This can’t be real

I wonder if the admin at ttu went through REd Raider Outfitters to put this up so that they would have plausible deniability.

either way… pure cringe. Desperation makes for a stinky cologne
