Too many of you have grown up on frozen fast food fries. Their fries turn into a greasy jumble of potatoes as soon as they pull them out of the fryer, and rarely have any crispness. Fuck P. Terry's fries.
October 14Oct 14 you can get them extra crispy but they're still tiny. easily my least favorite FF fry.

My co workers raved about their chopped salad and their chocolate cake. I was gonna hit it up next time I'm in Dallas to see how it checked out. I don't eat at steak houses so I can't speak to Beck's Prime. I have a Portillo’s near me so eat there occassionally. Is it as good as places in Chicago? Nope. Nor as good as Weinberger’s in grapevine but that’s 30 minutes away. And not as good as Biundo’s in Venus but I go there for the tavern thin crust pizza. But is it better than most fast food? Fuck yes. the Italian beef combo with an Italian sausage buried in the beef, sweet, hot, half dip is mighty fine. I like this in Chicago with marinara and provolone but this hits. Don’t like the burger but the hot dogs and Maxwell st polish hit the spot. becks prime is a burger joint not a steakhouse. I like it Edited October 14Oct 14 by Texzilla58

That order might draw a side-eye, but it's not as controversial as putting ketchup on a hot dog. I just don't know why you'd turn a beef into a chicken parm sandwich.
October 15Oct 15 47 minutes ago, nolongerU2horn said: Sure. And plenty of people in KC and NC will argue about beans and bbq sauce Well, I grew up not very far from KC and chili wasn't much of a thing in that part of the country, but yeah, it usually had beans in it. No doubt their 'q is always sauced, and it's a sweet sauce to boot. I just think the West African & Caribbean influences on Louisiana food are a little more legit, with the Creole city folk going with tomatoes and the boondock Cajun folk going without. Most likely I suspect that it was hard to get tomatoes out in the swamps, but that's conjecture.

I grew up with my mom making a coupla styles of gumbo: a more creole NOLA-style (she was NOLA born), and a more cajun simple style like her family in La Place made. Didn't make a shit, they were good. And in recent years, @Pescado_Rojo told me about his hack of adding a can of rotel to a pot of gumbo. I tried it, it adds just a bit of acid and zing, and I really like it. So I do it sometimes. Make what you like, eat what you like. Dogma is for fire-and-brimstone preachers who we all hate anyway.

Won't be "purist Texas chili," but if it's good eats, it's good eats. Life's fucking short, man. If you want a fruity girlie drink, order it, DGAF what other people think. Want beans in your chili? Enjoy. However, if you serve cobbler without ice cream, you should die a painful death. That's a legit rule.
