I'm not entirely sure the Republicans aren't gunning (heh) for a legal hunting season on brown folk.

During the summer of 2017, when temperatures reached triple digits in Arizona, four women drove to a vast desert wilderness along the southwestern border with Mexico. They brought water jugs and canned food — items they later said they were leaving for dehydrated migrants crossing the unfriendly terrain to get to the United States.

The women were later charged with misdemeanor crimes. Prosecutors said they violated federal law by entering Cabeza Prieta, a protected 860,000-acre refuge, without a permit and leaving water and food there. A judge convicted them on Friday in the latest example of growing tension between aid workers and the U.S. Border Patrol.

Aid workers say their humanitarian efforts, motivated by a deep sense of right and wrong, have been criminalized during the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal border crossings. Federal officials say they were simply enforcing the law.

That guy killed 13 Americans, 8 Mexicans, and a German.  He’ll be executed, and it won’t come fast enough.

Three months before one of the deadliest public mass shootings in U.S. history, allegedly driven in part by white nationalism, President Trump asked a Florida audience how to stop migrants from crossing into the United States.

“How do you stop these people? You can’t, there’s —” Trump said, cutting himself off as a rally attendee yelled back, “Shoot them.”

Trump paused and smirked, before responding, “That’s only in the Panhandle can you get away with that statement.” The crowd cheered for nearly 10 seconds before Trump continued.

And that will bring those people back and totally absolves piece of shit politicians who promote hatred of entire groups of people to their base!

Yeah, way to gloss over some critical details chief. These were their names:

  • Jordan Anchondo
  • Andre Anchondo
  • Arturo Benavidez
  • Javier Rodriguez
  • Sara Esther Regalado Moriel
  • Adolfo Cerros Hernández
  • Gloria Irma Marquez
  • María Eugenia Legarreta Rothe
  • Ivan Manzano
  • Juan de Dios Velázquez Chairez
  • David Johnson
  • Leonardo Campos Jr.
  • Maribel Campos (Loya)
  • Angelina Silva Englisbee
  • Maria Flores
  • Raul Flores
  • Jorge Calvillo Garcia
  • Alexander Gerhard Hoffman
  • Luis Alfonzo Juarez
  • Elsa Mendoza de la Mora
  • Margie Reckard
  • Teresa Sanchez

You seeing a pattern? Maybe something that would suggest a certain group of people were targeted? Maybe something that might connect to all that hate speech directed at migrants, or "bad hombres" as Trump might say?

Yeah, a crazy person committed a mass homicide targeted at a group of people.  I'm all for stopping crazy people from committing acts, and sending them off this earth quickly when they do.

Guys go easy on fatty, he can't be expected to understand how eliminationist rhetoric can stochastically lead to atrocities when you make access to guns no matter what an equally important matter.

Crazy people get inflamed by crazy rhetoric and do crazy things. Predictable consequence of the rhetoric you vote for. And you are ok with this as acceptable losses. You've demonstrated it time and time again. Your guilt and cognitive dissonance forces you to get get angry at everyone else. It is sad. It is pathetic.

Cool.   Guilt?  lol.

It is interesting that you believe not feeling guilt over your contribution to rhetoric that most definitely has gotten a lot of people killed is in anyway a positive mark on your character. It is also interesting that you think it is funny. Self-reflection, when you have chance, might make you reconsider that.

What a heartbreaking story.  Broke people traveling thousands of miles on foot to find a better life, only to be shot for sport by racist cowards.  And a bunch of gun-toting, xenophobic "Christians" will make excuses for the racist coward murderers.

And we're just barely getting started down this rabbit hole.

God dammit, man.

According to an excerpt, the president privately suggested to aides that soldiers shoot migrants in the legs, but he was told it would be illegal.

Previously, Mr Trump had made a public statement suggesting soldiers shoot migrants who throw rocks.

Mr Trump suggested other extreme measures, according to the book.

"Privately, the president had often talked about fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators, prompting aides to seek a cost estimate. He wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh," reads the extract.

Why the fuck would I watch that nonsense?

To be clear, these weren’t escaping migrants from their detention center, right?

I don’t understand private citizens thinking they can not only flip on gomer pyle citizens arrest mode but start shooting people. This appears to be nothing more than a repeat of the GA case where the 3 white men killed the Black guy because they believed he was a criminal.

I fear though that you can easily find Texan jurors that would not return a guilty verdict on these 2. “It ain’t right to shoot them BUT if they had stayed in their own country, these guys wouldn’t have been put in this situation.  Not guilty.”

Yep.  They are an invasive species that needs to be culled.  Like feral pigs, they are everywhere in south Texas, destroying stuff.  There are so many of ‘em, they ought to allow unlimited hunting of ‘em from helicopters with full auto weapons.  Culls the invasive species, provides a new revenue stream for struggling ranchers and a limitless hunting opportunity for Texas sportsmen.  It’s a win/win for all people involved.
