Closer to $450k over this and last year. Shopping an offer is fine. But when you tell a staff one thing and decide an OSU visit is needed. We don't use hard checks to close but do expect loyalty/honesty. Hence the Ojo no go for any reason.

I have the benefit to know I'm dying soon from MS and hemochromatosis (shitloads of iron in blood, I'm over 10x what a human should have) and really don't need money for retiring now. Easy to give some to Texas. And no I don't have sway other than declining to up what I'd given. Like I said, I'd like Cooper in this class but really think the young man could have managed things better.

Sorry hear to about your condition and prognosis. I’d probably do the same with my $$ in your predicament. Are we going back to Lee with a better offer now that Ojo is off the table? Thanks for all the insight. Best wishes on your days moving forward.

I love that someone took the time to digitally black out something on a photo of a phone that hadn’t existed for 20 years by the time the ability to digitally black out something on a photo came about. 😂

I just assumed he was trying to hide the fact it was his phone and he’s one of those people who fucking goes bonkers with a label maker.

Dang sorry to hear that about your health. It also sounds like there is potentially really an honesty issue with the recruit. Maybe it’ll work out. Teens are often immature.

Cooper catches the ball extremely well from what I’ve seen and had better top end speed. I don’t see enough clips with the ball to comment on his vision.

crowell seems stronger, breaks more tackles, better quickness, makes more people miss, consistently outruns defenders who have an angle, more experience at the position.

that said, Sark has more than proven my initial read of him wrong. He’s got my trust (not that it matters one way or t’other).

I only watched the top hudl videos for each at the links you posted, but I saw Cooper breaking more tackles. Crowell seems to have really excellent vision and cutting ability. Tends to break outside more often than not. He's better at seeking open grass as it were. The tackles I saw him breaking were arm tackles. To sum it up, he's better at tackle avoidance based on what I saw.

Cooper was run up the middle much more in his highlights so it's a little murky interpreting the differences, but he's able to churn yards and move a pile after contact. He's also more of a North / South RB. Crowell uses every bit of the field to get loose. There also just seemed to be more traffic for Cooper to navigate through in his highlights. Not sure if the types of scheme and play calls had anything to do with that. It may be that Crowell's running style opens the way better due to his shiftiness.

I'd be hard pressed to say which is better given the projection to the next level, but I think Crowell has better vision and composure as of now, and Cooper may need some coaching and film study to grow in that regard. But he is excellent raw material. He also looked good playing both sides of the ball. Focusing on one position should yield better development.

I like your summary, even though I have Crowell as a better back.

projections to the future? Yeah, I have no idea, especially with Cooper having such a limited number of carries.

I like the idea of a north/south big RB.

That might go a long way towards solving our red zone issues.

Get Cooper, feed him red meat for a year, bulk up, score touchdowns.

I don't know shit about fuck, but I think Cooper is quicker through the hole, I think playing both sides of the ball and being a track guy makes him a better fit for Sarks team.  I wouldn't mind having either, both have high ceilings

Both have run 10.7 100 meters.

Cooper is significantly bigger and just as fast.

isn’t 10.7 what the women run in the olympics?  not that fast tbh

Anyone have any insight as to why we didn't make contact with Hiter? If we did, anyone what happened there?

At the end of the day if we get Cooper I'll be happy af. My preference is clearly Crowell, but he isn't coming here unless Cooper doesnt pick us and we drop a large ass bag in hopes he says fuck it.

From what I saw Cooper is a 1 cut (or no cut) back that gets to the 2nd level in a hurry. Then seldom does 1 guy bring him down. He also looks good as a receiver out of the backfield with good hands. I think Sarks offense is an excellent fit (and vice versa) and that Sark has a good plan for how he intends to use him. Now we just need to get him and hold onto him.

There might be reasons to explain this, but Sark is a much better roster builder than Mack ever thought about being.

Mack was scared to death of recruits who wouldn’t commit early and took too much bread.  Especially after the dickheads like Robert Joseph in the 2006 class.

As I said a month or two ago, I don’t worry about recruiting with this regime.
