There was also something about him not getting along with either Ffrench or Lockett according to Gerry.

I think you're confusing Moore with the kid from Hitchcock that committed to the aggies.

I halfass remember hearing somewhere that Lockett didn’t want to play with Moore. I don’t know if it was dislike or him worrying he would be #2

Kelshaun Johnson (Hitchcock WR) didn't want to play with Lockett, per Gerry

If Clemson continues to struggle, maybe Wesco might want to come back closer to home.

Lockett was never going to sign to play where Moore was heading. Texas would have taken Moore over Lockett.

Johnson wanted to be the main man in his signing class and Lockett wouldn’t have enabled that for him.

Wesco was never interested in Texas. His sister played soccer at OU and he was way more interested in OU.

I asked about him yesterday and, as of yesterday, two people anyone here would trust do not think he’d look our way should he enter the portal.

Clemson mods seem to have real concern about multiple potential transfers and recruiting class attrition.  Quinn is one. Burroughs is another.  Both young WRs on campus as well.

Is Woods gone to the draft this year? That’s one I wanted to see head our way last year

This is correct. Moore didn’t want Momma’s family hovering around his life moment by moment.

I remember when Waddle's name was called at the draft. He was back stage with a cluster of family/friends.

His name got called. Family went crazy grabbing at him trying to get a hug. He stood up, head straight and ignored them all and walked off.

Now, idk shit about fuck. But that sure had the " im tired as shit of my family hanging on me"

Having family wanting to spend your money or ride your coat tails ( mahomes  brother anybody?) Has gotta be drama nobody wants.

I wanted him as well. That said, having watched him last year and more this year, I’m of the opinion that he sucks. He looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. He’s a more acclaimed Marvin Jones Jr. I thought “well, he’s playing out of position for mediocre coaching” last year. Turns out he sucks at DT as well. He’ll probably get drafted high and suck for one of the franchises that perpetually sucks at the draft.

By gawd, that sounds like Nick Caserio’s music!  Time to draft the DL version of Kenyon Green.

Cross-posting from Bobby's "Tuesday" post on the football board:

Texas recruiting continues to plug along.

The Horns have only offered one new player based off of senior film, Colorado linebacker Braylon Hodge.

But, in true Sark style, the Horns have stayed on two of their top prospects who committed elsewhere earlier this summer. The persistence seems to be paying dividends.

Receiver Jalen Lott (Oregon) and defensive end Dre Quinn (Clemson) are two targets who are very much in the crosshairs of Sark’s aim. Both are real possibilities for the Longhorns to flip.

Remember all the hand-wringing over recruiting in the months of June and July?

**

Also in recruiting, Louisiana defense tackle Dylan Berrymon is headed back to Ole Miss this weekend after spending last weekend in Austin.

Though he says he remains firmly pledged to the Longhorns, it’ll be the second trip to Oxford for Berrymon this season.

Florida 247 has a writer who wrote an article today that might as well be called "The Vultures Are Circling Florida's Carcass For These Recruits". He laments FSU being the leader at trying to flip guys, but Texas also gets mentioned for Guervil:

"Kendall Guervil

Guervil has been committed to Florida since July 2. A little over a month later, he shut his recruitment down with the Gators.

Florida State and Texas have been in touch with him, especially after his knee surgery due to his season ending ACL and meniscus tears. Guervil has had conversations with the staffs at both Texas and Florida State, but no visits have been set to either school. He made it to the Swamp for Florida’s matchup against USF."

Pay attention to this one. He may have already quietly visited Austin again. If not, it's got a good shot of happening.

They also discussed Heze Kent, but no mention of Texas on that one.

Also, here's a list of confirmed visitors for the Texas/UF game. Some of these guys are targets for Texas, too.

Spoiler

Florida’s is coming off three consecutive losses to start its 2026 season, but it is set to host arguably the biggest recruiting weekend of its season for its matchup against Texas on Oct. 4

The majority of the Gators’ 2026 class will be in attendance, and several 2027 and 2028 targets have also confirmed with Swamp247 and 247sports that they will be in the house for the Gators’ matchup with the Longhorns.

While this list will see additions throughout this week and next week, here’s the early list of recruits that have confirmed they’ll be in the Swamp on Oct. 4.

Lmao “matchup.”

I don’t know what’s funnier, the gymnastics performed to avoid calling this the “shocking upset” that it actually was, or pretending like the recruits witnessing the “matchup” in person is somehow a positive.

The Texas Longhorns continue to look solid for a fifth straight top 5 level class headed into October.

So no Dylan Berymon? Guervil would be a good replacement though.

Feels like we could use another secondary player but maybe we have too much tied up in bench depth their already.

I was there too and it was a very listless crowd and the LSU offense is like watching if ISU and K-State had a baby. Boring. LSU D looked good but if a recruit was coming to a game and wanting a big game atmosphere this past weekend wasn't it. One cool thing they do is a feature pre-game of "NFLSU". Where they show all of the former LSU players in NFL. Was a cool intro and obviously there are some big names still in league.

Berymon keeps visiting Ole Miss even though Kiffin won't be there next year. To me that indicates a guy looking for a landing spot.

Gerry said today that some guys like Wells we are fighting hard to keep, and others not as much. The implication was pretty clearly they are fine with Berymon walking. My presumption is that's because Guervil is going to flip to us. Gerry made it sound like one flip could happen pretty soon.

There's nothing shocking about USF beating Florida. I've watched both teams play. USF is just way better.

I think the insinuation is he'll go to Florida when Billy gets shitcanned.

I think Joey Freshwater knows he can win 8-10 games every year in Oxford and be the most unbothered king of his kingdom in all of CFB.  Zero pressure to do actually win anything that matters.

Believe it or not, but once you have enough money, other things, like prestige/legacy, begin to matter a hell of a lot more.

Right.  That sounds just like Kiffin.

IT just put out an article saying Kohen Brown confirmed with them that he is going to play safety at Texas.

Guess that locks in Jermaine Bishop for offense and we will keep pushing for Jalen Lott.

South is really earning that paycheck.

It's probably still this way with or without Quinn, but the 2026 class seems to be the best we've brought in defensively in a long, long time.

If we can add Lott, hold onto Cooper, and Jermaine Bishop ends up on offense, I think we will end up with a great balance between defense and offense, and get some of the offensive juice back that we didn't quite get in the 2024 and 2025 classes. The 2024 class, in particular, appears to have a lot of whiffs or underperformers offensively at the skill spots at the top of the class outside of Wingo (Gibson, Butler, Owens and Clark all ranked around or in the top 300 for On3 that year).

Offensive line is weak. We have Turntine and Robertson who are players. We need Lee and a solid 4th guy like Sam Utu committed to Alabama. Otherwise, we will be the same offensively as we have been under Sark.

We have Max Wright committed too at OT.

And I was referencing more in regard to explosive skill players. WRs and RBs. For all the good Choice did here, he didn't exactly leave a stacked RB room with a bunch of diverse skill sets and guys who can turn 5-yard runs into 15-yard runs (although injuries played a role). That room will need a makeover in the offseason and Derek Cooper is a guy who can jump to the front of the line. I also didn't really understand Sark saying publicly a while back that they wanted to get more length and bigger bodies at receiver after he just coached Worthy/Bond/Golden and watched guys like Jaydon Blue and Keilan Robinson with the ball in their hands. Hopefully, we can course correct on that and guys like Bishop/Lott would be a good start.
