December 12, 20241 yr This will be a nice and significant addition to the DKR Trophy Room [emoji1598]
December 13, 20241 yr Popular Post Something to note: if Kelvin Banks Jr. wins the Outland Trophy tonight, he'll be the first offensive lineman to win the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award in the same season since Orlando Pace in 1996.

December 13, 20241 yr Thank you for coming to the 40 Acres, Kelvin. Without you and the others, we would still be wandering the recruiting and building up a T. Instead, you came in and immediately dominated and were rewarded with all of your hard work. Congrats, man. Hook Em 🤘
December 13, 20241 yr Dude, he won both the Outland and Lombardi. He's on that Orlando Pace track. LFG Edit: He also won the Jacob's Blocking Award. Dude went 3/3. Absolutely epic. Edited December 13, 20241 yr by Funk Doctor Spock

Quoting @satyanash. Great stat. First time since the great Orlando Pace. Amazing
December 13, 20241 yr According to ChatGPT, which may be missing a few, besides Pace the only other players to win both awards were Leroy Selmon, Ndamukong Suh, and Aaron Donald. Pretty good company.
December 14, 20241 yr Wow. We used to tell ourselves these guys shouldn’t really be playing much until their junior year. This guy step on campus ready to dominate. Outstanding.
December 14, 20241 yr Dude, he won both the Outland and Lombardi. He's on that Orlando Pace track. LFG Edit: He also won the Jacob's Blocking Award. Dude went 3/3. Absolutely epic. Orlando Pace is a high bar. He met it in college for the most part, but it’s a high bar for a career. Orlando is in the Tom Brady of o linemen discussions. I hope he crushes it next level.

It's apparently some blocking award the SEC gives out? That's all I know about it. As for his healing, they're keeping a lid on it for the time being. Last I heard he was still in a boot, but that could be precautionary. Hopefully he's back by next week. I don't remember if they ever revealed the severity of the injury. It may just be something that heals up quickly. If not, I'm cool with Goosby. He's done a fantastic job filling in for Banks.

I hope Banks kills it in the league, but yeah, that's a high, high bar to reach.
December 14, 20241 yr Banks is about to be laughing to the bank. Pay this man! Hard worker and student of the game.

December 22, 20241 yr Banks is the only OL that I have ever really considered the argument for retiring his number.
January 12Jan 12 Go be great big man. Thanks for your time in burnt orange. I know you will have a long successful nfl career
January 12Jan 12 We were able to spend the last 3 years watching one of the greatest OL in Texas history.

January 13Jan 13 We’ve known it was coming since he took his first snap, but dang I hate to see him leave.
April 20Apr 20 Daniel Jeremiah has Banks graded in the mid 20's of the 1st Rd, but based on this year's NFL Draft expects Banks to get drafted between the 10th and 15th picks.

August 26Aug 26 Somebody forgot to tell him his arms are too short and he can only be a guard in the NFL.
August 26Aug 26 In Saints news, the young and experienced Spencer Rattler beat out the old and inexperienced Tyler Shough for the starting job. I looked up their ages and Spence and Tyler are born on the same day! Except Spencer is one year younger. Spencer is smaller, but he’s a year younger and has starting experience in the NFL. Absolutely he is the preferable option to start the season as the guy Banks will be protecting.
