October 13, 20223 yr I went to Minneapolis for The Replacements' reunion show, and The Hold Steady opened. They didn't thrill me, but they certainly weren't bad. I like these lyrics, it's a little easier to hear them in a proper mix than over a roaring rock band. Kind of a McMurtry vibe in his vocal tone and delivery. You can still hear that Irish-y influence in the music, like The Hold Steady, too.

October 14, 20223 yr . . . and that's just flat out great rock 'n roll. I honestly don't know if they played that when I saw them, but if they did, I was not doing a good job of paying attention. Thanks for that.
