November 30, 20223 yr Best part is "UTL" already sounds like a sexually transmitted disease. We're practically making money on the deal.

November 30, 20223 yr Some of you clearly don't know much about Tech, including that it has the third largest endowment of any public system in the state. It's a far cry from UT and A&M, but we all know the political reasons behind that (if it weren't for aggy political bullshit Tech would likely have surpassed them a long time ago). Regardless, Tech is sitting alone in a second tier below UT and A&M (or arguably tier 3 if you want to split UT and aggy into two separate tiers), and well above everyone else (you could arguably throw Houston in that tier given they have the 4th largest endowment, but they're damn near a non-entity in many respects). Talk of rolling Tech into any other entity is silly unless we're talking about merging all the publics under one banner, and those who have mentioned Texas State as if it is remotely comparable really don't know anything about anything. The two are not even in the same stratosphere in terms of size, influence, and most importantly money. It would be like saying Tech is comparable to UT. I don't know what they were thinking with that proposal, but it's not reflective of their position (and it definitely deserves the mockery it's getting). They either didn't really want it, didn't want to spend any money for some reason, or put a monkey in charge of the proposal. All are certainly possible.
November 30, 20223 yr University of Texas Austin and Nacogdoches Or Texas A&NUT-Naco New mascot is the Tacos.

November 30, 20223 yr UNT System under Tech. UoH System under Texas State or A&M System. TWU under Tech or Texas State. Leave TSU on its own for mid-term future, unless they make a request. This is patently ridiculous. I think SFA starts a domino effect of system consolidation. Then again, UH-Victoria degree holders apparently hold grudges.
November 30, 20223 yr I always hated that when Texas State adopted the name they didn't find a way to buy the rights to the name and logo from Necessary Roughness. Aggy would have probably sued, but fuck them, it would have been awesome.

Harsh, but generally not wrong.
December 1, 20223 yr Out of my three siblings and me, three graduated from UT and none from aggy. Out of all of our kids, one graduated from UT, and three from aggy. I have one of each.
