Texas Women’s Basketball 2022-2023: Get on board or get out the damn way

Faye already subbed out. She needs to stop starting. She is so raw offensively. No finesse

Texas in an 8-0 hole early. Ice cold

3-3 from BTA for ISU. What cold spell?

New Girl Facepalm GIF by HULU

And the ref whistles are out in Hilton. Shocker

12-6 ISU

ISU 3-3 BTA

5 fouls for Texas. 0 for ISU

If you're going to call all these soft fouls defending Joens you have to call the same contact inside on the other end of the court.

With all the injuries on the team I don’t expect her minutes to go down for a while. Mwenatamba will also get big minutes

That’s fine, she can come off the bench. She just really is a big with meh post moves and can come off the bench

Yeah this is not going to be a win for us. The refs aren’t going to give us any call

2 fouls on ISU. 800 on Texas.

Damn that’s a lot of blood.

That was probably a foul on Donarski. But it was head to face not elbow or arm to the face

Amina on the floor now with no offensive game. With no Sonya and them packing the inside.

Shaylee is going to have to light it up and Holle is going to have to shoot.

Whistle city tonight, 3 girls with 2 fouls in the first quarter.

Our post players are getting roughed up and no call

22-11 ISU after 1. That was hideous

So, Ladies are called for 3 fouls in 0 (zero) seconds….even announcers never seen that before…Ladies have to beat the team, the fans, and the refs….we look intimidated….but, lots of time left.

We aren’t taking shots. Too many passes. Rori and Shaylee

This is a reverse of the game in Austin

No Sonya. A very pissed and desperate off ISU. Hilton Magic

we weren’t ever winning

I see some players really fighting for the ball. Unfortunately, they're wearing white.

We're making this too complicated. If they are going to sag this much you have to just pull up and shoot the ball.

This. Shoot and let your rebounders get the ball. You can’t keep passing up the shots

Somebody has to shoot the ball from the perimeter. You can't force the ball inside when they're putting this many bodies in the paint.

Big if we can get this down to a 5-7 point game at half

24-33

Not gone but we need an early run in the 3rd Q

I'm sure Vic wasn't expecting to play 2 true freshmen, at the same time, in a game like this for such huge minutes.

Jak and Muhammad played a lot of minutes in the 2nd together.

One of these teams looks several seeds better than the other. Hope that turns around in a few minutes.

Another game where we spend most of the possession trying to get it into the bigs without the space to do so.

Yep. I’m not sure what we worked on but Vic had to know they were going to double/triple the post without Morris to make them pay. Doesn’t look like we practiced at all

Yeah, they need to stop force feeding it inside.

Pull up and hit a wide open jumper. They're daring our guards to shoot the ball.

Spacing is also a lot worse with no Morris.

Hope not…but, something’s gotta change pretty quick.

The make-up of the lineup, with freshmen and inexperienced players, has us floundering.  Not sure we can pull this one out.  ISU/coach want to beat us so bad, they can taste it.  Would take a monster game by someone(s) in the second half to win here.

Iowa State is essentially playing a box and one where they put everyone in the paint and help over the top on Rori.

They're daring Gonzales and Holle to a hit a wide open 3 pointer.

Shalyee is going to have to wake up, no chance without her. Gaston needs to come out a ways for her face up game, stick Jones inside to clean up.

Like always motion gets rewarded with fouls, getting mugged inside - no call.

Iowa State hitting crazy shots tonight.

That's why Texas should just keep shooting jumpers. Then the bigs can grab boards.

Yeah we are sloppy and just kinda shell shocked
