January 11, 20232 yr Thank god we had Jones back for this game. With 4 fouls on Hadi we would have been in trouble with Jackson. Rori looks exhausted. Edited January 11, 20232 yr by TommysTinyTowels
January 11, 20232 yr I like how pissed Rory is after missing 2 free throws up 13pts and 1 min left in game. Competitor 🤘
January 11, 20232 yr Texas gets its first signature win of the year with big nights from Shaylee (26 points), Sonya (13 points in limited minutes), Rori (11 assists) and Taylor Jones (20+ min) Texas 72 #23 KU 59 See you Sunday against ISU at Moody Edited January 11, 20232 yr by Js1
January 11, 20232 yr Hopefully this Texas team will be one of the ones that just finds a way through the season before hitting that peak at the end. definitely have the talent to go on a run

Jones injured early, Rori out the first 7 games, Moore now out for the year. Gotta think this team will start to click and become more cohesive if players can stay healthy and stay in the lineup.
January 11, 20232 yr It feels like opposing coaches have started to challenge their teams to match and exceed the physicality of Texas. And to beat rori up as much as possible to wear her out. She gets hit in the face once or twice a game when she’s dribbling out near mid court.

January 11, 20232 yr I just looked at the top 15 NET teams from last year. The lowest seed was BYU as a 6 seed. Every other team finished as a 5 seed or higher.

We will work ourselves up to a 4/5/6 seed, maybe higher if we go on a run and win the Big 12 tournament. Considering we still play (going by NET): #12 ISU (home and road) #16 Baylor (home and road) #34 KU (road) #48 OU (home and road) #51 OSU (home) #63 KSU (road) #66 WV (home and road) #80 Texas Tech (home and road) TCU is the only team left on our schedule that isn't helpful (#145 and a home game) Also the committee takes injuries into account and Rori being out when we played UConn, Louisville and Marquette has to be taken into account. I just wish we had gotten that South Florida game (#33) Edited January 11, 20232 yr by Js1
January 11, 20232 yr Regional hosts have to be at least a 4 seed. We have left ourselves with almost no margin for error to get there

Well, by the end of the season we should be really good, so I don’t think anyone other than perhaps the top teams would want to see us coming to crash their regional.

Have to let things play out, it’s so early in the conference season. Lots and lots of opportunities for Q1 and Q2 wins left

January 13, 20232 yr One thing to note on ISU, they are 11-3 and 3-1 in Big 12 play, but they don't really have any significant wins. Our resumes are very similar, which is why they have a 1 spot edge over us in the NET rankings. They lost to #8 UNC, #16 Iowa, and #17 OU They won over #24 Villanova. They lost those 2 of those 3 with Soares fully healthy (she got hurt during the OU game and only played 2 minutes). Edited January 13, 20232 yr by Js1
January 14, 20232 yr Texas is up to #11 in NET and they play #12 in NET tomorrow. Chance to make the top 10 with a win? No offense to Creme but he's a moron. If you think Texas is a 9 seed you should probably stop doing this as your profession.
January 15, 20232 yr Check out this bullshit here. seen lots of incidental hits to the face uncalled. Never seen them review it after another play (inbounds turnover) because there was blood. Edited January 15, 20232 yr by Pato del Muerto
