Dickson just drop-kicked the kickoff.

Or at least, I think he did, because ESPN decided it wasn't worth showing in real time.

didn't work but pretty cool idea because he could kick it either way easy

He’s supposed to score points too?

Am I the only one who found it pretty cool that he kicked it that far after bouncing it off of the ground? He needs to get paid.

They could also be 0-2 if they started Brett Hundley instead of Russell Wilson. Might as well make the move.

Not at all. He's getting a lot of love on social media.

Rugby technique

Glad he is getting deserved recognition

I think he did the onside kick the only way it might work. Try and kick it hard into a player so it bounces back towards your players.

It takes a special effort to be the biggest dipshit on a site full of dipshits.

I think most of you are getting whooshed by Pato, but I also think Pato's joke was pretty shitty.

Dickson is a badass,... too bad he has played only for teams that have a tendency to lose as of late.  That being said, having a shitty offense makes you shine as a kicker...

i guess we are all gonna ignore the 9 yard shankapotomos he had yesterday?    I mean his long was only a 55 and he kicked 7 times for a 45 yard average, only 1 inside the 20  ... pretty pedestrian for him.

drop kick kickoff

Didn't that kickoff put them at about the 15?

yeah, kicked to the 2 and returned to the 15.  thing of beauty.

What was the point of the drop kick kickoff?  Where they just kicking it short of the goal line so it had to be returned, or trying to do something else?

Probably did it because Dickson is better at putting it at the 2 with a drop kick from the 50 then their normal kickoff guy is at doing it from a tee.

there was a penalty against chicago enforced on the kickoff, so the seahawks were kicking off from the 50 instead of the 35.

Backed up on his own 9, 53 yards with no return.  Pretty good but room for improvement.

'Bout 37 yards' worth of room.  C'mon, Dicko!

#1 Punt Yards 670 yards *SEA sucks*

#1 longest punt 69 yards

#3 average 51.5

#3 NET 46.4

Tied #4 Inside20 5

0 Touchbacks

Last year only one punter had 3 punts downed inside the 5. How many has Dicko so far? Does at the 5 count as "inside the 5"?

SEA punt coverage has let quite a few teams out on some of those punts inside the 20.

His 5 inside the 20 yd line are:

2

6

13

19

4

listening to this with headphones in is just awesome:

thats one strong leg.

Still getting nibbles 2 days later.

Yep. It’s Janikowski. He would have just blasted it through the end zone.

A drop kick is recoverable if not touched by the receiving team, I believe, unlike a punt.

so is a kickoff.

as Gsdoa said.  The reason for the dropkick was to get field position because Janokowski would've booted it into the stands.

Why didn't we just have him kick our FGs instead of Nick Rose?

Are you unfamiliar with how awesome our coaching has been the last few years?

Needed to save his leg for all the punts.

An off day for Dickson is still good. It just wasn't his usual brilliance. 43.8 avg, 2 out of 8 punts inside the 20.

Dicko's trying to hit Seattle's party scene and weather a couple hungover games before it turns into a dark, grey, joyless drizzle for nine months. Respect the hustle.
