December 1Dec 1 i'll take either that Gator Bowl (6:30pm on Sat 12/27) against Miami or the Citrus Bowl against Michigan/USC. The Gator Bowl against an ACC team that isn't Miami is a big no from me.
December 3Dec 3 With the CFP rankings out and us above Vandy, it appears we will wake up feeling the Cheeziest.
December 3Dec 3 I don’t fucking care. Maybe in 2 weeks I will. Just feels like cold water in my face.
December 3Dec 3 I think USC is obligated to go to the old PAC 12 bowls for this year. Projections have them at the Alamo Bowl.

The Alamo Bowl has “rights” to the former PAC-12 members (went to BiG10), that don’t make the 12 Team Playoffs. Most likely the Trojans are headed to SA. Even as a homer, the Alamo Bowl has recently had a stretch of being the best attended, as well as the most TV eyes of all bowl games, not counting playoffs or NY6 Bowls. Hook’em!!!

December 3Dec 3 That is the right attitude to have. Yes, I'd prefer we play in the playoff but I'm not going to be that upset as I didn't think it was happening at all. We'll still get a decent bowl against Michigan and it's the last time we'll get to see our team till late August. All the people who may be upset and come on here to complain or say this is worthless will be the same people dying for football in the dog days of summer.

I'll take it and have some fun
December 3Dec 3 Two good posts. You guys have good attitudes. I’m going to just stand here and walk around in a circle.

December 3Dec 3 Author Any indication of bowl opt-outs yet? Current Texas > current Michigan, but after the opt-outs on both sides the respective rosters are likely to look pretty different.

Lol, no one of consequence on either team will play in that game. Hopefully our walk-ons and 3rd stringers can beat theirs.

I doubt anyone coming back will opt out. Hill would make sense given the recent injury.

There will be thousands available and you can pay a fraction to sit as low and middle as you want. Its a random bowl game in Florida for teams from Texas, Michigan/California. There is no fan base local.
December 3Dec 3 A quarter to half of the starting rosters will sit the game out. Hopefully, those that play will make the most of the extra practices and get better.

December 3Dec 3 It's my understanding that football players like to play football. NFL guys won't want to risk injury unless they're auditioning. I'd think anyone wanting to play next year or ever at Texas will be happy to play Michigan. Also, it's a team sport. Guys like playing for/with their fellow teammates. The whole it's-all-about-money perspective is tiresome and not accurate. If it were, I'd stop watching.

December 3Dec 3 Don’t pay face value. Buy through SeatGeek and make sure the tickets are “in hand” and transfer immediately. You can buy day of and they will be sent immediately.
December 4Dec 4 5 minutes ago, tbone_ said: Or stub hub probably. I personally find seat geek to be way better for ease of app, transfer, ticket selection and price. To each their own, and I will never bash price shopping.

December 4Dec 4 we're a pretty young team. most of them are expected back next year. i seriously doubt there are going to be a ton of opt outs on our part. the talk of Arch not playing is just fucking dumb.

Or that he was going to the damn draft.
December 4Dec 4 Am I dumb for waiting for Sunday before buying tickets, flights, and locking in hotel rooms for Orlando? We've decided to make a winter Disney trip out of it for the kids and a few of them will also want to go to the game with me and my wife. My concern is about the Gator Bowl. No interest in going to Jacksonville, personally. I haven't followed much bowl discussion anywhere, so maybe my concern is unwarranted?

Nothing *wrong* with waiting, but wouldn't it require either Bama to drop out of the playoffs (but stay above us) or Vandy to miraculously jump us (but stay out of the playoffs)? The SEC maintains it's agreement that Citrus gets the highest ranked non-CFP team. SEC BOWLS AND SELECTION PROCESS Citrus Bowl (Orlando, FL) - first selection after CFP selection process
December 4Dec 4 Though I guess maybe it's not the highest ranked non-CFP, since South Carolina went last year instead of Alabama. But we've never played in that bowl, so I would be surprised if they didn't want us.
