  • No. Been dealing with some pretty heavy family stuff. My uncle Bill (mentioned him a bunch in the football thread) is back in the hospital again. My cousin, Josh, Bill’s oldest son, killed himself ove

Speaking of, how do I get gone? Again, no delete feature listed on my profile.

I need to get out of here and be productive.

Apparently the best way is to get sideways with Motownhorn.

Dunno who that is. But I would like to have my account deleted. I don't see the option to do it myself.

I guess I could start posting scat photos.

@HtownHorn hasn’t posted in any thread since the end of March. Good poster that is missed on the Houston sports and football threads. Hope he comes back.

dibs on Jewish Wang for my Macau Bar Mitzvah house band name.

I like when Rex claims to have all these people on ignore, even posting the full list of them at times.  Yet, somehow chimes in whenever they post something he claims not have seen but has issue with.

He also worries about being doxxed, which I don't think has ever happened, despite him having done it multiple times to others, and suspended for it.

But yeah, now that y'all mention it---where is Z-Tejas?  We all need a break from here now and again.  But sadly, you start doing the math.  A lot of early adopters of computer technology in the 1980's era already in their 20's and 30's.  1990's come around, and they start getting on the webs, and as UT fans, that means 360/statesman, HornFans, LFZ, et. al.  So the older side of those boards are already in their 40-50's.  Well now we're 25+ years into the age of Longhorn message boards.  So a lotta folks, despite our denial of it, are now 70-80 years old.  Sucks to think about, but some of the old guard we used to read posts from 25 years ago are well into senior age and dying off more and more.

Our children are gonna pull up archives of this website and with any luck, all our dumb posts will be deleted.  It'll just be Neikia posts about selling awkward looking baby dolls suffocating in plastic bags.

I am assuming there is some kind of safe guard to nuke this site of history once we all die and stop posting.

Never been to this part of surly. It’s kinda funny.
A couple years ago I atted someone on CR. They responded with fire and vinegar (big time conservative) about my post calling him out.

Then bitched cause he asked immac to remove his ability to post on that forum.
It is unbelievable that some people can’t help themselves.

There was a poster named Bill in Sinton - old codger, likely dirt napping by now.  Bob in Houston was a HF mod who gave out blinking envelopes like they were candy on Halloween.

Speakjing of bob in houston, wasnt there a mod at HFs named bob in sinton?

Wasn't he the one who started the "R.C. on a Mobile" satire thread about A&M like 20+ years ago?

Yeah, I definitely remember getting multiple warnings from him about something or other.  Seemed nice enough though, at least online.

The maths are just tough now these days.  We got lots of recent grads on here and old timers, but the bulk of us.  We grew up on the Apple II, got online in high school or college, globbed onto message boards in the late 90's, flash forward 25-30 years........yeah 90% of this place is aged 40-70.  Obviously Longhorn message boards will carry on.  We aren't special, but many of us were there at the beginning of this shit from 360 to HF to LFZ to today.  Sad to say, we're gonna start losing more and more posters.  Other graduates will grab on with their fancy shoes and complicated lyrics, we weren't special but we were different.  There's some deceased posters I've know for 20 years from online and tailgates that I miss more than some family members.  These message boards will get more sophisticated and opinionated and divisive and inclusive.  But they'll never be the pack of degenerates we've been from the start.

There was some stupid rule when selling/buying tickets over there.  It was like you couldnt discuss the price or something.  I got a week off by breaking the rule. But I think that was katie.

Bob in Houston was a cunt on the basketball boards as a mod on HF.  Anyone think Campus Loopy migrated to the other anonymously?

#1896

To the other what?  He was pretty funny though.  I never knew if the story of him driving a CapMetro campus bus was true or just a schtick.  The moderators on HF were incredibly binary.  Half of 'em were relaxed, funny and posted great takes.  The other half were annoying and couldn't wait to run to Katy to report/suspend/ban you so they'd get a lollipop.

I met loopy at a CA bowl game.  I can't remember if it was Rose or Holiday.  He was with a handful of other guys that all piled in a van and made the drive straight-thru.   Loopy was cool as shit.

One of that group...a younger black dude (I can't remember his handle but he was a known poster), being a younger dude and therefore a dumbshit, came out without anything other than a Tshirt. It was chlly.  I had an extra burnt orange lined-windbreaker and I donated it to him.  He was very appreciative.  I hate that I can't remember his handle.

I spent quite a bit of time around Katy and Robert, and found them both to be charming in person.  We did a half-dozen tailgates together, and that usually included drinks and dinner the night before the game (and the Costco trip with my horse trailer) and brunch or lunch the morning after.

At a Holiday Bowl "pregame" the night before, by about 10 PM, everybody else was too tired to continue partying and went to their hotels.  It ended up just me and Scott Wilson.  Of course, I  knew of his reputation, but I'd never met him.  We end up in some shitty San Diego bar, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fuck this bartender...a hot blackfoot Indian chick from Kansas.  Wilson cockblocked me and ruined the whole thing.

No bob gave them out on the basketball board. That was his little empire to rule. And rule he did.
