November 15, 20223 yr The NYT's article said it was a "crime of passion", whatever that means. Jealous ex?? How can there not be a public threat when 4 people just killed and there's no suspect. I was reading the reddit threads. Some heard it was stabbings, others heard shooting. Many of the college kids left early to go home for Thanksgiving. I'd nope the fuck out of there too.

November 15, 20223 yr Police believe an "edged weapon such as a knife was used" and that it was an "isolate, targeted attack". I'm going with a jealous ex. Stabbing 4 people to death takes some special conviction. This dude or dudes need to be slowly, painfully executed.
November 15, 20223 yr From reddit. I was following the different threads last night. No idea how much of this is true but there were posts about the knife part long before police made it official. Au-Confidential ·17 hr. ago I’ve been hearing some reports from people that say they’re close with the families. They have said that the manner of death was homicide by knife. This isn’t information from the university, police, or state police. ·3 hr. ago There is a person at the very top of this thread who provided accurate information about the victims before the police publicized the victims' information. They say their friend lives across the street from the victims and heard EMS talking about stab wounds. Because this person who posted sounds authentic, I'm willing to believe it. And it would explain why the cops haven't said anything. You really want the town thinking they're living in Scream 2? ProneZebra ·3 hr. ago Just based on information and rumors circulating around social media: at least one roommate was asleep inside the house during the attack, may have heard the attack but didn’t register what was happening. Her door was locked. They know the weapon and it would have caused substantial damage if accurate..prevailing theories are something happened during the formal event on Saturday night and male targeted someone or all in the house as a result. Also one victim reportedly had a stalker for some time and grew more disturbed by their behavior. Absolutely nothing about this being a burglary or drug related. amw_90 ·2 hr. ago Where did you see all this information on social media? Can you share a link? The UI sent out an alert Monday night warning people about the suspect. Around 8 p.m., a man threatened a group of students walking between the Steam Plant parking lot and the Student Recreation Center on Paradise Path. According to Moscow Police Capt. Anthony Dahlinger, the suspect was on a bicycle and yelled at the group of students for not moving over for him. An argument began and the man allegedly displayed a knife. Nobody was harmed during the incident. The suspect is described as an 18 to 22-year-old white male. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black clothes, square-framed eyeglasses and had a five o’clock shadow. The UI alert says he had a nondescript mountain bike and a blue backpack. From Sunday. Also coroner said it was “Gruesome. I’ve never seen anything like this in the 16 years I’ve been in this position.” Maybe that's why they think/thought it was a "crime of passion" because of how gruesome the act was. November 17, 20223 yr Well this changes things... https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/16/us/university-idaho-killings/index.html More questions than answers continue to plague the Moscow, Idaho, community after the fatal stabbing of four University of Idaho students – and police said they cannot assure the community is safe. Moscow Police Chief James Fry gave an update Wednesday, saying two additional roommates were in the home at the time of the killings who were neither injured nor held hostage. Fry also said two of the victims – Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle – were at a party on campus, while the other two victims – Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves – were at a downtown bar prior to their deaths. All four arrived back home sometime after 1:45 a.m. local time, Fry said. They were killed “sometime in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 13,” Fry said. But there were no calls to 911 until noon Sunday. Fry did not say who called 911, despite two people being at the home when the killing took place and when officers responded. Fry also declined to say if the two people spoke with police. “We’re not going to go any further into what they know and what they don’t know,” he said. He did say the call came in for an unconscious person, not a person with a stab wound. There was also no evidence of forced entry, the chief said. Fry did admit all four victims were killed with a knife, though no weapon has been located at this time. As of Wednesday evening, there is neither identity nor location of a suspect, Fry said. “We cannot say there’s no threat to the community and as we have stated, please stay vigilant, report any suspicious activity and be aware of your surroundings at all times,” Fry said. Fry’s comments come just one day after the Moscow Police Department said in a news release there was no threat to the public and evidence led investigators to believe this was a “targeted attack.”
November 17, 20223 yr more details https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2022/nov/16/police-to-hold-afternoon-press-conference-on-killi/ MOSCOW, Idaho – The brutal killings of four University of Idaho students remained unsolved Wednesday as officials said more than two dozen investigators from four agencies had been assigned to the case. Moscow Police Chief James Fry said in a news conference that detectives believe the homicides on Sunday at a home near campus were a “targeted, isolated” attack. But he stressed that they still haven’t found the murder weapon and don’t have a suspect. “We cannot say that there is no threat to the community,” Fry said at news conference attended by more than 40 local and national media members Wednesday afternoon. “We still believe it’s a targeted attack. But the reality is there still is a person out there who committed four very horrible, horrible crimes.” He asked that anyone who has information relevant to the case to call a tip line at (208) 883-7180. Until the news conference, officials had said they did not believe there was a continuing threat to the public, and police declined to answer questions related to the slayings. Madison Mogen, 21; Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20 were killed in the attack. Mogen, Goncalves and Kernodle were roommates. The Latah County coroner ruled all four deaths as homicides. Autopsies were being performed on Wednesday, Fry said. Fry said two other roommates likely were home during the killings and at the time police arrived on scene. Fry said the roommates were not injured during the attacks. He declined to say whether they were able to provide an account of the killings. When a reporter asked a question referring to the surviving roommates as witnesses, Fry clarified: “I don’t think I ever said they were witnesses. I said they were there.” Fry said investigators do not believe anyone was held hostage during the incident. Police have determined the students were killed in the early morning hours of Sunday. Police discovered the bodies after a person called 911 to report “an unconscious” person around noon Sunday, Fry said. He declined to say who called 911. “We don’t know why that call came in at noon and not in the middle of the night,” Fry said. On Saturday night, Chapin and Kernodle were together at a party on campus, Fry said. Mogen and Goncalves were together at a downtown bar and arrived home sometime after 1:45 a.m. Sunday, he said, confirming the women were seen in a Twitch livestream getting food from a local food truck. Fry said the four students were stabbed with a knife but police have not recovered a weapon. He said there were no signs of forced entry and a door to the home was open when police arrived. There’s no indication anything was missing from the home, Fry said. Aaron Snell, Idaho State Police communications director, said the people in the house have “fully cooperated with the investigation” and investigators have not established whether weapons other than a knife were used in the attack. Fry urged the community to “remain vigilant.” “We all have to be aware of our surroundings and be watching out for each other,” Fry said. He said there are 25 or more investigators working on the case from Moscow police, Latah County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police and FBI. “We are providing every resource that we can to make sure that this comes to a conclusion and that the person or people that are responsible are brought to justice,” said Idaho State Police Col. and Director Kedrick Wills. University of Idaho students and families of the victims had expressed frustration Tuesday at the lack of information released to the public. Many students left Moscow early for Thanksgiving break. “The reality is I probably should have been standing here a day or so ago,” Fry said. “But I’m here now. We’re going to continue to be here.” Snell is taking over communications related to the incident. UI President C. Scott Green said the university will support students who have decided to leave campus. He added that officials decided not to cancel classes because many students prefer to stay . “To us, this crime and the loss of these young lives is simply beyond comprehension,” said Green, who fought back tears before wiping one away at one point. “While our small community is certainly not immune to such things, it’s not a situation our close-knit campus is used to dealing with.” Green said the four students were “bright lights in our community.” Some students who remained in Moscow to attend classes said they’re questioning if they’re safe on campus. Blaine Eckles, UI Dean of Students, said the university increased campus safety patrols since the killings. Campus safety officials are available to escort students across campus. Investigators are continuing to collect evidence, review videos and establish a timeline of events, Fry said. Fry promised a thorough investigation. “We are looking at everything – every tip we get, every lead we get,” Fry said. “There’s no one that we’re not going to talk to. There’s no one we’re not going to interview. There’s no one that we’re not going to look into.”
November 17, 20223 yr Author That’s pretty fucking weird. I get not leaving your room until noon as a college student on a weekend, but that’s pretty nuts to basically sleep through or not hear 4 people getting stabbed to death in your house. Wonder if the surviving roommates just happened to lock their bedroom doors or if someone was specifically after those 4.
November 17, 20223 yr The 911 call was for an unconscious person. Maybe the 2 other roommates were drugged and slept through it all. One might have finally woke up and stumbled outside where someone saw her and called 911. Supposedly the door was open to the house when the police arrived. That's why the chief was deliberate in saying the below. Can't be a witness if you are drugged and slept through the whole ordeal. “I don’t think I ever said they were witnesses. I said they were there.” Edited November 17, 20223 yr by crash_davis

The roommates wake up and see the carnage and call 911, describes the scene etc..like others have said , they dont say "dead or deceased " on 911 calls as only the coroner, ME , Dr etc...can say someone is dead, so they call for help with for an unconscience or non responsive individual. No news outlets are saying there was an unconscience individual in the yard.

November 18, 20223 yr The FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit is now assisting Moscow Police in the investigation. The BAU assists with crime scene analysis, interviewing techniques and can create a profile of an unknown suspect for police to look for. Update: The Latah County Coroner tells CBS that the killings seemed "personal." The autopsy revealed that a large knife appears to be the murder weapon, but it is not clear who was killed first. There were possible defensive wounds on at least some of the victims according the Coroner. Each victim was stabbed more than once and there is no sign of sexual assault.

November 18, 20223 yr creepy as fuck reminiscent of... I used to live 3 blocks from that townhome that Speck killed those nurses. People still live there and probably have no idea what happened.
November 18, 20223 yr Until they have a suspect I can imagine that fear is pretty high. Was thinking of the Gainesville killings on campus until they caught that maniac, Danny Rolling. Seen a couple of specials on that and parents were yanking their kids off campus. If they have evidence it’s not anyone in that house they need to be honest with the public that there is real danger. So either a stranger that will likely do this again or someone known to the victims. if it was either two of the surviving roommates (both girls) I’d imagine there’d be evidence of a cleanup of some kind with that much blood. Unless there is more than one killer it really seems like the deceased victims were attacked in their sleep. There was a case back in California where a man broke into a house where three young women were living and stabbed the two who lived upstairs to death and fled not realizing one girl lived downstairs who was able to call police. He had an issue with one of the girls he murdered because she was trying to get his fiancé to break up with him. The surviving girl heard everything. He entered the house late at night when all three were asleep. She tried to help her roommates but the wounds were too severe. The perp eventually married the fiancé and they asked one of the victims mother to be a part of their wedding ceremony. It took a long time to find the killer (it ended up being DNA on cigarettes left at the scene and some other stuff) but they interviewed the mother and she was shocked stunned angry etc…that she was a part of that wedding ceremony.
