2nd for Argentina!!

Mexico-Poland now tied on GD, goals scored, and head-to-head.  Would go to the fewest cards tie-breaker I think.

What is the fair play situation

A fucking stupid way to settle a tournament. But it screws Mexico, so I'm fine.

so what happens if it sticks like this?  poland and mexico would be even on points, gd, gf, and ga?

eta: just read up...it will come down to yellow card tally?  lol

Imagine the shitshow if one of the teams took a yellow for a rainbow armband and that figured into a tiebreak.

Mexico losing the tiebreaker due to Fair Play would be the funniest thing to ever happen in the WC.

Messi just shot directly into Czezzknee in order to screw Mexico.

Mexico gonna get through. What bullshit

Dude aren’t you Mexican-American? Everyone I’m friends that are with root for El Tri as at least their 1B team after Team USA

Poland is getting their ass-beat as badly as anyone I've seen this tournament. They really don't deserve to advance.

But this is getting crazy.

Going into the day it was Poland 4 yellows, Mexico 6. I don't know what today's games look like.

Mexico with 1 more yellow today.

Mexico has one, Poland has zero

Mexico 1 today and Poland none.  7-4 total.

Another thing to consider - if Mexico scores 1 more goal, they would then hold the tie-breaker on goals scored, even if the Saudis even that. So 3-1 for them would be better than 2-0.

Argentina just mixed another chance.

A direct red card equals 4 yellows, so Poland needs to avoid that.

Not that it is important right now, but do reds count the same as yellows for fair play?

No they are 4 points.

No

I wonder what odds I could get for Saudi Arabia to win the group right now. You'd just need 3 Saudi goals and 2 from Poland in the final 20.

Wait, they don't start the games simultaneously at the half?

I reckon you can’t if they have different extra time at the end of the first halves.

Nope, I noticed that yesterday.  I think they take a standard 15 minute half so if stoppage time is different in the 1st half they get off sync.

Right

they don’t extend the halftime of the match with the shorter amount of stoppage time in the first half.
