I don't know anyone that has 1a/1b USA and Mexico. One or the other and it's fuck Mexico

Obviously USA #1 but if Mexico not playing USA root for them to win. Whatever, I  respect your fandom

Mexico going out because of yellow cards would be ever so perfect for those cocksucking bitchass motherfuckers.

They are going out on goal differential now

Well you are who you are and Mexico has had breakdowns on defense that are head scratches for four years now and there is the last one for this cycle.

Mexico would still go through if they score though.  GD would go back to level and they'd go up 1 on goals scored.

True. Didn't think about that.

And it's over.  No cuarto partido.

No, they're going out because of that and giving up a goal in stoppage.

Life comes at you fast; the KSA goal rolled in right after I hit submit. Oops.

Anyway.... time to enjoy the river of LLLLa Tri tears.

Not quite a perfect day. This means we get Argentina/Australia in the quarters instead of Poland/Australia in the quarters, right?

Ah, I guess it will be fun to eliminate Messi in has last WC ever.

What was wild in the end is that Saudi goal was basically meaningless. Mexico needed 1 goal before they score (to be +1 on GD) and they needed 1 after they scored to be +1 on goals scored vs Poland (GD would have been the same).

Ok is it goals differential -> goals scored-> fair play?

For future reference

Another reason to hate Argentina they failed to score a goal on Mexico's behalf that was wide open toward the end of their game.😉

There's this show on TasteTV (or something like that) where this dude travels around Mexico eating delicious food, but it happens to be sponsored by Costena so everytime he gets this authentic dish he's over there getting out a jar of Costena salsa for the camera to see and ruining it....hilarious.

Full order is this:

  1. Points obtained in all group matches:
    • Win: 3 points;
    • Draw: 1 point;
    • Loss: 0 points;
  2. Goal difference in all group matches;
  3. Number of goals scored in all group matches;
  4. Points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
  5. Goal difference in the matches played between the teams in question;
  6. Number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question;
  7. Fair play points in all group matches (only one deduction can be applied to a player in a single match):
    • Yellow card: −1 point;
    • Indirect red card (second yellow card): −3 points;
    • Direct red card: −4 points;
    • Yellow card and direct red card: −5 points;
  8. Drawing of lots.

#4-6 are when 3 or more teams are tied

Perhaps you’ve already forgotten about the shit PK attempt in the first half for Argentina.

ALSO, if you are blaming Argentina, then it’s the 3rd time in the last 16 1/2 years that Argentina has knocked México out of the World Cup.

Not entirely meaningless as the Saudi goal meant Poland got in ahead of Mexico off goal difference rather Fair Play. While it would've only been fitting to see Mexico eliminated for that kind of shit, it's probably better for the sport to have it done with something like GD.
