That was a direct quote from the ESPN announcers.

Yes, why I was confused the ESPN announcers stated this with such gusto.

Nice save.

Maybe they meant when we were also ranked top 10?

Whatever they meant, they sucked and we kicked some ass!

Also, super impressed with Creighton's starting five. They were as good as advertised.

To wit: zero points from the bench.

Great win. Would have preferred that they were a little more disciplined in the last 3 minutes. They took quick shots when taking time off the clock would have been better, but it worked out. This team could be special.

nah, he did the right thing. he would have gotten fouled two seconds later and best case scenario he gets the same two points. there was too much time left (12-13 seconds?) to dribble it to the corner.

There were 17 seconds left. You absolutely take the 2 in that scenario.

How do you christen the arena with "another" victory?

It’s good to know that you can’t think for yourself.

Piling on the Hunter comments, for sure you take the bucket.  Dribble around and take off at most 3 seconds, then potentially not even get 2?

He couldv'e hovered under the basket for a small bit. All the creighton dudes were way back so it would have taken at least 3 seconds to get close to him. But I'll take that dunk for sure.

There was a time when you knew playing a top-10 team meant a loss, no matter what we were ranked. Glad that's in the past.

Also, one of my cousins is Assistant Dean of Creighton's Graduate School and is a big fan but she doesn't talk shit win or lose. I'm sure she's disappointed but will be magnanimous in her comments. Unlike other cousins who are Nebraska football fans and talk enough shit to get an honorary degree from aggy.

Good win and nice job retaking and holding the lead. Team wasn’t at best tonight but they hung in there and worked it out.

Fun game. Keep it up and good luck under the bright lights at MSG. 🤘

Biggest losers talk the most shit.

I think this is the only additional thing you could've asked. Creighton really wasn't chasing, so he could've sat under under the hoop for a couple seconds. But that's crazy nitpicking and I would've rather taken the for sure points than risk something going wrong just to burn a couple seconds. Especially when that basket should've sealed the deal if their guy didn't go absolutely bonkers hitting threes.

We were #11 then, not in the top ten.  But yeah :D

Texas still doesn’t have an answer for team’s with big/tall center.

damn, are we fucking good or what? I felt no anxiety and knew we'd pull it out but it could be the 4 rum and cokes and 40 mg of lexapro. I dunno, i think its that we're really good.

Best parts were how great the defense really is. They frustrated Nembhard that first half and shut down any O rhythm.
0 bench points for the Jays. That’s some good shit.

The answer is 72-67.

What a great win, fellas. This team has been a true joy to watch. They have a ton of potential 🤘🏼

I was telling people watching with me that they needed to stick on Scheierman and keep him missing. Was worried if he finally got one then he'd start making more. I was right.

The answer is to make them run the floor.

Yes, we'll run into that matchup problem eventually, but if you have a center who's 6'10"+ and a plodder, we can that a matchup problem for you, too.

What a great great dub.  Lucky that guy didn't go Curry mode until after 0-9.

Now time to celebrate and wax one to Dolly Parton's massive jugs on this holiday special.

Wouldn’t that result in a 3 second call?

Also

Idk about you guys but we never shot FTs and I didn't bitch about the refs but once - the Brock call was clean.  Reputation call.

Awesome hustling defense is our answer.

Mitchell didn’t get much run at the end. Not enough experience yet to close?

I guess. I didn't think that was the best move by Beard. Mitchell was awesome all night.

But Beard is coaching for March in some ways. I trust the right guys will be on the floor when it (really) matters.

I generally only go to the day games since I take my 10 year old son and we were out of town on the 26th so Arkansas-Pine Bluff is my first game of the season on the 10th. Pretty fired up to see the new arena in person.

It is just how basketball goes.

College games are less predictable for a few reasons. It's easier to blow multiple possession leads with seconds on the clock.
