Pointlessly searched but the overbroad title made it impossible, and perhaps there's already reference to it in the Netflix metathread, but I hate those in this forum because they are absolutely fucking useless for discussing a specific show.

We just finished watching this. It's based on a true story, and is about a family that moves into a spooky old mansion and starts receiving creepy letters in the mail. Intrigue ensues.

Stars a bunch of recognizable actors, and directed by Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story and seemingly everything else).

It's a fun show with lots of twists and turns, and it's so outlandish that the whole time you'll be wondering how in the fuck it's based on a true story. There's plenty of times when you will want to pull your hair out over logical inconsistencies that the main characters overlook, and of course there's plenty of occasions when you will want to shout at the characters for making stupid decisions, and I personally found Mia Farrow's character so viscerally annoying that she raised my blood pressure whenever she was on screen (excellent casting for the role...) but if you're looking for a few nights of dumb fun (seven 45-55 minute episodes), check it out.

GF and I started this a couple days ago, I am digging it so far and it is pretty intense. We have 2 episodes left.
