  • Track dried out 20 minutes too early for the mustangs. Both on the podium to 6th and 8th in a hurry.

  • Hnnngh. Ready. Here are some of the pics my 21 yo shot last year when we went to Daytona. He's getting pretty good. Building a website. He's dying to go again this year.

  • @ConferenceRoom & @Prepuce of Doom, I finally broke down and got a VPN sub a few months ago so I could watch MLB TV. Really coming in handy now, watching IMSA tv with no ads. Just FYI.

Looks like a great day for racing in Canada today.

The 4 Corvette finishes second under yellow today in the GTD PRO class.  The 57 AMG finishes second in GTD.

Finally got done watching 2 Indycar races, CTMP, and now the 6 hours in Sao Paulo. Dominance by Cadillac and Spike this weekend. Dragonspeed with Houston based Risi Competizione Ferrari gets a spin and win in GT3 at CTMP. Couple of scary LMP2 crashes at CTMP. Kinda wondered if George Kurtz died since they never showed a replay of that crash and all the angles were from far off or zoomed into the side of a Porsche safety vehicle.

BMWs take the top two spots in GTP (the week after RLL had been fired) and the win in GTD Pro, Spike gets more gold in LMP2. next year this race goes 6 hours and indy becomes a 2:40 sprint

If you were thinking about it, don't bother going out there.  Everything is fenced off from the exit of T1 to the T15 grandstand. Me & my boys were given free tickets, Paddock Passes, and parking passes for the whole weekend. No point in even going though if we can only see a third of the track, and can't see the best parts.

I just got a one day GA pass for Saturday, but I agree. The only GA options were for T1 ans T15. Lame

88 mustang was out in Q1 but one of the lexuseseses took the checker twice so got bumped. now will start P1, next to the 77 mustang, both more than half a second clear of the 3rd fastest car in the tricky weather.

in Q1 caddy puts both cars on wets just as the track was starting to dry out. last year's winner the "privateer" ferrari starts P1 alongside the sister #51 factory car. peugeot in P3 nearly 9/10 back of pole.

I saw that they put on wets but didn't see the lap time after they did that.  What was the logic there?

Must have thought the rain was going to keep coming down. Alex Lynn's first flyer was second as he crossed the line but that lap ended up 16th of 18, joined by the other caddy and a Toyota that also tried wets

Yep, but according to some people the sound doesn't matter & we're stupid to place any value on it at all ... 🙄

I remember walking across the bridge over the St. Lawrence to Gilles Villeneuve in 2010 for my first GP weekend. It was the start of FP3 when I heard the V8s in person for my first time. Even from the far side of the bridge, I could follow the sound of individual cars from one end of the track to the other with ease, and those were just the V8s. I went straight to the hairpin. It was the first place I experienced them up close. The off-throttle sounds as they braked and downshifted, and then the screaming out the other side were just otherworldly to me. I was hooked instantly. It still tingles my spine thinking about it.

macau is always fun. would like all the F1 drivers to run F3s through monaco, maybe it wouldn't be an absolute parade
