I think you have to put in teams that actually won if (IF!) Michigan loses. You can't have a legitimate playoff with 3/4 teams that didn't win their conference. You would have to start looking at Utah and Kansas State.

Current system is best record, you know this.

It's true. Iowa State would be a pick 'em if they had Michigan's spot in this game. If Michigan wins, all is good. But if they somehow lose...

No it’s not.  WVU and Iowa State are garbage compared to this Purdue team.  They are solid.

Down 17, they'd need a FG at some point.

Plus, perhaps some big donor has Purdue +16.5...  And Brohm knows.

You’re down 3 scores in the 4th in the conference title game. Stop settling for field goals like a bitch.

IMO, Purdue would beat both ISU and WVU.  Using the Sagarin method for point spreads (which matches many opening lines), Purdue and ISU are a pick-em.

Purdue must not teach math

Am I the only one who’s not retarded here and understands the FG was the right call? I mean it’s desperate and won’t matter…but still right

Current system is a beauty pageant

ISU also is solid. They don't belong anywhere near a game for any sort of championship.

If that were the case, Roll Tide. But it isn't.

Not with 5 minutes left on the clock down by 17.

I'm a bit conflicted, but it seems like a TD there is an asshole move.

Yeah it is.

It's a group of people inviting who they like.

Michigan is undefeated and playing a conference game. Please tell me you don’t think if they lose you think they aren’t in. Maybe Tennessee or bama should be in before them for you?

I don't know how anyone could be certain the committee would pick X Y and Z teams regardless of what happens. Their decisions are not an exact science, a few losses to perceived top 5 teams can allow them to decide to jumble things as they please.  I have a hard time seeing them pass up an opportunity to get Michigan/Ohio State 2.0 this season in the Playoffs, that would be an epic game.

Can anyone get an invite? Do you know people? Let us know.

I'm not sure if that is an attempt at being witty, but you can't be that naive.

It's an invitational. A group of people invite teams to play in games not sanctioned by the NCAA.

Not with 5 minutes left on the clock down by 17.

Any conceivable path to a win includes a field goal. Doesn’t matter when it happens
