December 7, 20223 yr Illinois playing good defense... Horns need this kind of tough game. Gotta execute better on offense. LET'S GO !!!

December 7, 20223 yr I’m supposed to be at this game - but missed my train due to meeting and am pissed. Illinois I thought would be the toughest team we will play so far, they’re far better than the ranking I believe. I’m an Underwood stan, though. Edited December 7, 20223 yr by The Ace of Aces

December 7, 20223 yr Illinois has better defense and offense than any other opponent Texas has played. And they have us outsized at almost every position
December 7, 20223 yr Those two 2-man buckets were sexy. It's nice having a coach who's seen basketball played before and like, taken notes, and reread them, and told the team about them.
December 7, 20223 yr I’m perfectly fine if they give it to Dainja every possession. He is a turnover machine down there
December 7, 20223 yr Weird that we don't have fans behind the bench. In a city of 8.5MM you'd think quite a few alums would be at the game.

December 7, 20223 yr Neither team playing very well. Half empty MSG is kind of a weird environment. Less airballed 3s would be nice. Duke and Iowa fans have the other half and they don’t play til 10:30 CT

If Mayer hadn't gotten unbelievably hot for the first time this season I don't think you'd be able to say that. They're not really running an offense. They're simply making shots. Which still counts, but it's not exactly sustainable from game to game. We're not getting as much going in transition off turnovers as I thought we would. Definitely credit goes to Illinois.

December 7, 20223 yr When our offense is dependent on Timmy then we are in trouble. Gotta get the guards going
December 7, 20223 yr Tyrese Hunter is driving me a little crazy with some of these turnovers. Also, every time Disu puts it on the floor for an extended amount of time while running a half court offense I find myself clinching my sphincter.

December 7, 20223 yr Carr 1-7 after 7-20 in his last game. Really hope he's not coming back to earth after his good start.
December 7, 20223 yr That’s the Hunter we need the rest of the night. And we have to get Carr some space to score.
December 7, 20223 yr Ugly performance in the 1st. Down 3 but should be up after forcing 11 turnovers and shutting out their top guy.

December 7, 20223 yr Just now, Js1 said: Really doubt we play much worse and only down 3 This club has multiple people who can drive and shoot and big guys we cannot match up with. When we don’t get a free guy rolling to the basket or fast break spot up our shots are contested with length. It’s as much to do with them as us.

December 7, 20223 yr 1 minute ago, Horn80 said: Texas lacking a big man is concerning. Not really. Dainja has 8 points and 3 TOs. He should probably have 5 TOs. The best big man in college basketball played ok against us but below his best. Our switching, crashing, and closing of passing lanes makes it really hard on bigs. If a big man gets position it doesn’t matter what size his defender is. And with the way the game is called even having a big defender isn’t going to stop a big from getting position. Force TOs and force kick outs.
