I finished up all the Harry Bosch books and was / am looking for recommendations.

This site https://bookriot.com/best-mystery-thrillers/ had a few recommendations and I borrowed a few via Libby.

- Bluebird Bluebird is about a Texas Ranger investigating 2 murders in a small East Texas town

- Long Bright River is a police officer in Pittsburg looking for her sister

Both are really well written with beautiful / woeful imagery setting the scene. Past timelines that weave into the current storyline. I'm going to try getting the other books, but would highly recommend these books.

If you have any other mystery book recommendations, please post here as well. Thanks.

Dashiell Hammett. I got a handful of his paperbacks at my local Half Priced books for like $5.

I haven't read him and want to, but I heard Raymond Chandler has some good mysteries as well.

I'm in the bag, so maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're looking for, but I cycle between Bosch, Charlie Parker - John Connolly, and Lucas Davenport - John Sandford.

They're all very similar, and are what they are....

Connolly’s Charlie Parker books are an all-time favorite. Begins with Every Dead Thing.

Bill Pronzini’s Nameless Detective is another. Starts with The Snatch.

John D. MacDonald’s Travis McGee novels as well. Begins with The Deep Blue Good-Bye.

All 3 series completely different from the other. Hopefully, you’ll find something you like.

I've read about 5 Charlie Parker series books and liked them a lot. I thought True Detective season 1 had some of the supernatural (can't find the proper word now) elements of the Charlier Parker books. Unfortunately they're hard to find on Libby, but I'll keep looking.

I'll try some of the other series. Thanks for the recommendations.

And just another recommendation for Bluebird Bluebird. Really good book about an AA Texas Ranger dealing with racists in East Texas.

A little different but Snow, by John Banville, is pretty good.   He’s quite a writer and does different genres well.  His Kim Philby book (can’t remember the name now) got me started on his books.

The Untouchable.  That’s the one with Blunt and Philby.

Tom Herman made me do it

I just borrowed this on Libby. I'll have a few days in the mountains to read this.

Another series highly recommended are the Matthew Scudder novels by Lawrence Block.  They begin with The Sins Of The Fathers.
