December 31, 20222 yr Thank goodness ugly wins count as wins, cause that was fucking ugly. But I'll take it and sooner can fuck themselves

December 31, 20222 yr We won because in crunch time they shot 3s and we shot 7 footers. And we hit our FTs

He's so crafty and knows how to get to the line. That move to get the foul on the three pointer to tie the game was clutch as fuck.

December 31, 20222 yr Nice to see clutch FTs down the stretch. Winning in Norman is not easy. Great win!

December 31, 20222 yr OU is borderline Top 30 in KenPom. That's a good win in conference on the road. Onward.
December 31, 20222 yr You want a high seed in March then you have to win some road games in the big 12, you won’t win them all but win the ones you should and win your home games and that should get us a 1-3/4 seed for the Dance.
December 31, 20222 yr I thought it was beautiful. Our experience won out. Coach Terry Didn’t play either FROSH much if at all in the 2nd half
December 31, 20222 yr Popular Post Terry should get some credit. Benched Hunter when he was playing like shit. How many coaches do that? Saw some type of mismatch and went to Rice in the clutch. Then he didn't abandon what was working. Good coaching.

December 31, 20222 yr For way too long it seemed like one of those games when an inferior OU team beats us because of guys playing over their heads and us stumbling around just enough to lose. But then...Mr. Rice to the rescue with some tremendously smart, skilled play down the stretch. Great to get that W.

December 31, 20222 yr Clutch FT shooting and veteran leadership wins close games on the road. 9-9 from the line, Carr making a clutch shot, and Allen coming up with rebounds and a needed layup off an offensive rebound.

First it was Sherfield making everything in the 1st half, then it was Groves making 5 3's in the 2nd half, then it was Hill making 3's and volleyball blocked the ball for another basket.
December 31, 20222 yr Terry really did some good things in this game with adjustments. OU started hitting those 3s because they were putting Disu in screens and he's not mobile enough on the perimeter. He wisely went to Bishop and even Cunningham for some minutes at the 5. This was a well coached game for Terry.

I've never understood why we don't do this more. Allen at the 3 is a mismatch for other teams. He can bully ball down there. Allen should get the ball 10-15 times a game in the low block.

They were putting Disu in screens and he was getting caught in no-man's land where other players were having to help off their man on rotations. Bishop is a substantially better perimeter defender when teams have players like Tanner Groves where they like to run action with their bigs that extended. December 31, 20222 yr Allen led the team in points, rebounds and assists. 2 assists leading the team isn’t great though.
December 31, 20222 yr Great win. Won a dogfight and senior leadership came through. Every road win is huge.

January 1, 20232 yr our ability to score at every level gives me so much hope for the postseason. we have multiple guys who i totally trust shooting from 6 ft, 12 ft, 15-18 ft, 3-point range, etc. so tough to defend a team that can hit shots from all over. bill self's KU teams usually fit this mold, and their record speaks for itself.

January 1, 20232 yr Glad to pull out the road win but that game was nearly unwatchable because of the refs. I get letting them play but damn they turned it into slugfest which I hate in a basketball game.
January 1, 20232 yr The encouraging thing is Texas is winning and Hunter is playing nowhere capable to the level he's able to.

Yeah, he was a 13.1 ppg guy at Iowa State. He's currently averaging 10.8 ppg and he's been under that number for 7 straight games. He's averaging 3.1 assists per game, and was at 4.8 assists last year. That said, he's seeing a little less court time this year, too. There's room to grow for sure.
