January 7, 20232 yr Saturday showing 40% chance and then when you go into the details, it's less than .05" at like 6pm only.
January 8, 20232 yr Still raining might-moderate, but for the last 30 minutes we got hammered with rain in NW Houston. Got some pea size hail too.
January 24, 20232 yr 0345hrs-CST, rain begins in Austin. Supposed to last 12 hours, and only then should we seek medical attention. We really fucking need this. We're not supposed to expect much from Dec-Feb, but this has been abnormally dry even by our standards. Drive safe out there this morning...
January 24, 20232 yr Hail at this temperature? That's weird. But then, nothing in 2023 seems to make sense right now.
January 24, 20232 yr In addition to today's soaking, >50% chance of rain every day from Saturday through next Thursday. Might put a little dent in the drought maps.

I get so fucking tired of these 30-45 day stretches with zero rain.
January 24, 20232 yr Couple of tornado warnings over Cypress and Sealy. Getting a little wild out east.

January 24, 20232 yr It got really windy here for about 20 minutes but mostly just really heavy rain.
January 24, 20232 yr Hate, how much rain does it take for your street to flood like that? Seems like you post pictures of that happening every time it rains.
January 24, 20232 yr Nothing like that in 77079 but we did have a shelter in place at the elementary school.
January 24, 20232 yr Hate, how much rain does it take for your street to flood like that? Seems like you post pictures of that happening every time it rains. This is the first time it’s rained this hard in a while. I think we’ve gotten about 4-5 inches of rain in the last 2 hours. Edit: I just checked and we are up to about 6 inches of rain now. And we have. Even getting rain fairly regularly since the fall. Our soil isn’t dry here at all, so it doesn’t take a whole lot.Edit #2: just dumped a little over 6.5 inches of rain out of the gauge.
January 24, 20232 yr Electrical power went off at 2:00 PM in 77382, The Woodlands. Estimated time of restoration 10:00 PM.

I got 0.4" total at my house in Northwest Travis, never anything more than a drizzle but it lasted many hours.
January 24, 20232 yr That damage in Houston looks substantial, I wouldn't think that's EF1 type random winter storm. Hope everyone's OK.

Yeah, I shouldn't understate the severity; it's certainly catastrophic if it happens to you. Luckily, I'm mostly seeing roofs ripped off and downed trees, but it seems to have affected the Shell refinery to a point.
January 24, 20232 yr That was some crazy weather. Tornado missed refinery by hundred feet. Some damage .
