Well well well, what have we here?  DFW has gotten themselves a force field

Never trust a weatherman. Now, in all seriousness... I know you were all expecting rain today. We were too. Check out this 18 hour loop of the astonishing dissipation of rain in and around DFW. There's still another chance of scattered showers/storms late tonight. #wfaaweather

We’re not going to get anything in Austin tonight, are we? Nothing on the radar. Never really warmed up at all today. No wind…

Still have a chance tomorrow night or is this a big miss by the weather gurus?

No, it looks like it all petered out.

I'm not putting a lot of faith in their predictions right now.  I guess I'll take the 2" and like it.  #claytonwilliams

Maybe a little more, but they really missed this time with the storms over the Hill Country.  It was a complex se up, so I'm not faulting the forecasters.  They are still pretty damn good, but sometimes mother nature throws them curveball.  At any rate, it's been a pretty damn nice spring.

Got too much south and east and not enough north and west, to make a dent in the lakes.  Ahh well, maybe 2024.

The Comal was barely over the bank at its narrowest point yesterday morning. It’s now up 50 cfs to 200.  Still below normal of 300 cfs. Every little bit helps.

At least according to Wunderground, the rain chances for today and the next few days evaporated overnight.

Your mom is hot! Thanks. Never tried that before.

I mean, she was a damn beautiful mother in her prime. Happy Mother’s Day, even though it’ll never rain again.

Goddamnit…this storm was supposed to be in the Hill Country. It just won’t stop raining here.

Call your shots.

I live near 2222/360 and I guess the gauge on 360 will get 3.5" between now and Monday noon.

Also, this event seems big enough that @phdhorn should be here.

Shot high.

Sitting at 2.12" right now but apparently there is a little more to come before noon today.

The lake basins are primed. We just need a good old fashioned Memorial Day soaking to help the lakes for the summer.

We maybe should be careful what we wish for.

We shall appreciate the Shoal Creek Saloon's sacrifice.

We maybe should be careful what we wish for.

It’s why I carefully asked for a “soaking” as opposed to a “flood”.

What's a few more bodies in Town Lake?

Looks like Lake Travis is getting it

Does it help as much if it drops straight on the lake?

Yeah sure it helps.  But the lake itself is just a small part of the catchment.  We need rain across the entire drainage basin, and a LOT of it.

So far Travis is up 0.7 feet.  It's a start, anyway.

Get those bodies moving down the river!

If we get any more rain, you'll start seeing this

In the end, it looks like the 3" - 5" forecast came to fruition... and maybe we get a bit more today?  It was good to see all that rain over Llano and near Travis last night.

My backyard was over 6" (360/Bull Creek) since Friday - 2.75" Friday, .25" Sunday, 3.25" Monday evening, too bad it was downstream of the Lake Travis Watershed.

Damn. Have had 15" in about five weeks. Just happen to be in the bullseye. Just a few miles away the total is half that. I'm the most rain-loving person you'll ever meet, and this is too fucking much. That's about 45% of our yearly total in five weeks. The backyard is like a wet sponge.

I only wish it was on the other side of the lakes.

You'll never guess which area of town I live. (Past 30 days, doesn't count the 5" rain that started all this.
