Man that was fucking crazy.  And of course wife’s car was parked outside at the mechanics.  Gotta go pick it up soon.  Hopefully no hail damage.

but yard appears to have enjoyed a fun late night romp

Total looks to be 2-2.5 inches of rain in just over an hour. Lots of pea sized hail and the 13 yr old woke up and asked if we were about to die since it was so loud.

Could Be Worse Let It Go GIF

The fuck was that that blew through Beaumont tonight? They name that SOB yet???

My Generac is earning its keep. 3 refugees in hold!

3 refugees in hold?  Is that better than a Flush or a Straight?

Got about 2-2.3 inches in right at an hour last night.    Gonna make 99 today extra steamy.  But the yard and garden are happy

I think it's another word for the brig.

My father had to briefly serve as a Master-at-Arms during his time in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  I assume the blockade caused all kinds of personnel shitshows as he was a comms NCO by trade.  So he had to present a few miscreants to the Brig over the course of a few weeks.  I remember asking him at like 8 or 9 years old, "What's a Brig"?  And without a hint of humor, but out of a Zucker Brothers movie, he replied, "It's a jail on a Naval ship, but that's not important right now."  I still cry laughing whenever I think of that exchange.

50% of rain every day this week, but 105 degrees?  Fuck off.  Never gonna rain again.

Where?  KXAN is showing 20/10/0/0/0/0/0 for Austin.

Yeah, my 10 Day is showing the “it’s never going to rain again” forecast.

Stupid Apple weather app

You're blaming an app when you're were literally off by 70% for several days.

Yeah, 'cause that's what you did.  /jerryeyeroll

Stupid Apple weather app

Mine is similarly optimistic about the rain but to be honest, it’s been more accurate than the local TV guys lately. There wasn’t much rain forecast yesterday and Dallas got nailed.11b667e90037fd941ba35d92ceef11d0.jpg

My Apple weather app shows 50% chance almost every day on the 10 day, but in the precipitation window it says none expected over the next 10 days. Make up your mind, Ghost of Steve Jobs.

I miss Dark Sky.  Apple claims their app is just Dark Sky with a different name, but it has not been nearly as good.

It really is.  It overstates the rain percentage -- both daily, and for a given hour -- by a crapload.  Like it says in an hour, 70% chance of rain at my house.  Then, 30 minutes later, down to 20%, then right before the hour strikes, 0%.  Because there was never a 70% chance of rain at my house in the first place.

It's functionally useless for rain prediction.

That seems pretty accurate - my furnace/blower went out on Saturday and my repair guy won't be back in town until Tuesday.

It's KXAN app. I also like it because it shows rain and temps for the entire country if you scroll around the map. Did you know we are about 15 degrees hotter than Phoenix? Why the fuck do we all live here?

Wunderground is pretty decent.

I usually do the 8-14 and 6-10 day forecasts from NOAA to get a general idea of what's coming, then do the 5-7 day precip forecasts for how much rain to expect, and then KXAN for exactly when to expect it.

Unfortunately, they all show real, real bad right now. This is like peak height of August shit in mid-June with no end in sight. Remember that nice spring we had? It's going out like the end of Terminator 2.

Pop up hail storm in Hewitt.  Lot of T and L, wind and some rain.

Those storms don't look like they're moving. Just gonna tease us until the sun goes down.

Storms in Gillespie Co....just sitting there.....that's the Pedernales water shed....

That will offset today's release from Mansfield, maybe. But they will release again tomorrow.

Raining sideways with some small hail in 78628

Scary in Cedar Park

Yep. Lots of hail. Thank goodness I don’t rely solely on the Apple app (really miss DarkSky but whatever) bc apple app still has no clue it’s hailing buckets of pea to marble size hail on top at my location.

10 mins of violent hail in CP. opened the door and hail came right in like a bullet. Shit was flying sideways

Looks like my ranch got no lubed out by junction but that storm just teased us here. I guess it is good that it isn't 99 degrees anymore.

I got a lot of questions for the meteorologists who have 0% chance of rain in their forecast and then it rains 1.5” with golfball sized hail

Marble size in the 78757.

jester just got pounded

hail core formed over lakewood drive in the last radar frame

There's a donut hole in the storm right over where I live

Power out in 78703. Seriously. I can’t take this shit anymore.

Got about 10 minutes of large but sporadic hail down the hill from Hagbard on 360 near Bull Creek. Only lasted about 10 minutes or so.

They were using the Apple weather app that replaced Dark Sky.
