Ended up getting real, actual rain that lasted approximately from 8:40 to 8:42. Got my outdoor furniture kinda wet but that's about it.

Oh well, that's 2 minutes more of rain than I expected to get when I woke up today.

First, great pic.

Second, of all the things that piss me off about this never ending hell hole of heat we live in, the tap water temp may make me the most homicidal.

Visited Houston. Experienced the hottest day (tie) on record... then washed my car for the first time in one-and-a-half months and so it rained on my car 😐

Thank you for your sacrifice. We got a full 60 second downpour in my neighborhood. I remarked to my wife that we saved the grid.

10/beltway area got pounded, tons of tree limbs down and several inches of rain.  Yard is still wet this morning.

Hallelujah holy shit

Ah yes, my old hood.  My parents who are a little further west told me they got nailed.   One of my cowokers lost power when her neighbor's tree was struck by lightning and fell on the power lines.

That's what I heard

I’ve been in New Mexico what’s the forecast for the next few weeks in Austin? Any possible rain makers brewing?

Mostly sunny and a 100% chance of you eating a dick.

Those colors mean nothing.  KXAN "Future Radar" (for whatever that's worth) shows the whole thing advancing towards Austin from the north and then predictably dying out just before it hits the city.

We are getting a pretty decent amount in 78730

I had no rain, but serious straight line winds come through about 20 mins ago

Near Anderson HS. Serious winds for about 20 mins. Then rain started, was intense for a bit. Has let up now. We’re right on the edge of it. Just a bit NW looks like they had it better.

I got a couple of drops at the Arboretum Trader Joe’s.  Washed my truck earlier so I did my part creating the rain mojo.

It's at least dropped the temp a bit. 100 right now.

Camp Mabry just dropped from 106 to 82 in one hour, a 24 degree change.  The all time record one hour drop is 28 degrees, set on Aug 31, 1954.

What do those colors on the radar to the northwest mean?

Two short bouts of rain in south Brazos county.  Probably not more than 0.1 inch, if that, but it dropped the temperature to 73 rain cooled degrees.  I'll take whatever I can get right now, and this is better than I expected.

I’m out on my back deck, reading a book and not melting. This little cool front was a nice surprise.

Rain in the Woodlands.  Yasss

Weather.com app keeps popping up rain alerts every 15 minutes for my part of Austin, but nothing happens.

it’s just hilarious how it keeps saying that.

Yeah my app has been telling me it's raining at my house since about 5.

It is not.

It is not raining.

There is no rain.  It is zero rain, nil, un-rain.

We finally got a little rain here. I think it’s the first rain since late June. It cooled off quite a bit though. This is the earliest it’s been below 90 degrees in weeks. It’s nice enough to sit on the porch and watch the Texans game.

Rain moved around San Marcos. Reformed in Caldwell. Guess I still need to water my plants and garden.

The heat is one thing, but I grew up in the tropics. Lack of rain and watching (when the) rivers run dry ( a great book btw) makes me surly.

Meanwhile fiancé is driving back to East Texas and getting rain where driving sucks. Her day tomorrow won't be fun. I got that going for me.

Got just enough to not have to water the plants this evening. About a tenth of an inch. Grass is still crunchy AF.

The last time it rained at my house was 6/21.

I gave up on the grass. Just keeping some of my expensive plants and a few foundation gardens going. Gave up on tomatoes and peppers. Cut them back and give them enough to keep the roots going. In a few weeks will fertilize with seaweed and see if I should start them back or compost the entire set up.

I work out in the yard until 100 degrees. Then I come into the office to keep the laptops cool. Today that was about 11:30.

No rain but a shit to if wind i Seabrook / La Porte. Expecting my tree to come down

No rain, bunch of limbs came down. Pecan so will be good for the grill I can never light, but ya know.....

Yay?

I got 0.02" on the weather station last week.

I got 0.01" last night.

The fact that that makes me happy is sick.

I looked at my gauge this morning and had 0.4 inches in it.  It ain't much, but I'm still happier than a cat scratching on an expensive new sofa.

Seeing things die and animals in stress is what gets me so yeah it’s the lack of water mostly for me too.

I think we can all agree the worst part of a drought is the lack of water

Yep, the showers last night were the first rain I remember since the big T-storm rolled through on June 21 that seriously fucked some shit up with the high winds.

Yeah, I think that’s the last time as well. The winds kicked up a bit last night too and our power flickered twice. I thought we were about to get a repeat of that event when we were without power for around 48 hours.
