All night (been watching NBC) saying not coming in my direction. Then 5 minutes before the baseball size hail hits they’re like “Hey it’s headed straight for your asses.” Lol. I will always take that rain but I mean legit telling us it won’t go much further south. Lies. Lol

Top question for next house I buy. Is the house on a grid with a fire station, police station, or hospital?

Getting bigger. Good lord.

I doubt she really said that.

In Round Rock, the hail fucked up cars real good. My truck has crazy hail damage and it cracked the windshield and broke mirrors and brake lights. My house has broken windows, lights, and I am sure the roof is fucked.

Ours is. We never lost power during the Big Freeze.

What side of Round Rock?

we are inBrushy Creek - got 1” hail for about 15 minutes.

78681. Half a mile from Rudy’s near Old Town.

Damn, son…

A couple of upstairs neighbors came down to my place to seek shelter.

They brought a gift along the way.

Not my hand.

What kind of truck? You may want to get it to a body shop as soon as possible if it's a GM or Dodge product

I’ll spare comment on those nails to note that’s a fucking serious piece of hail. Tomorrow is gonna be a mess!

Ever had a girlfriend? They strip the paint once they settle in for the night.

Seriously. If you have a hail damaged car, get it into the repair shop when they open tomorrow. The backlog is gonna be bad.

No rain yet in 78745 but this lightning is nuts. Check this out.

Yep. Lightning has been incredible in these storms.  I know we’ve had at least 2 lightning struck houses on fire in my area per news stations.

There was a lightning strike that had to be over by Hyde Park that..sounded like it split something in half.

I’m active in the wives thread… just because we’re broken doesn’t mean we fail to notice

My industry is fucked. Perfectly horrible timing

Dodge Ram. Called the auto insurance already.

Listen to this man - just a sample from Round Rock and one dealership.

Damn

Is it a newer model? If it is, and the shop has to use OEM parts, you could be facing a lengthy repair process as dealers aren't getting orders shipped from any of their warehouses currently.

Hail was hitting my front door and it's 20 ft from the end of an awning.

Checked the car and it escaped damage by some miracle.

The refugees have left except for one requiring additional comfort.

Just got round 3 in Hewitt.  5 minutes of quarter+ sized hail and a shit ton more lightning.

More on the way in a couple hours?

If so, hopefully no hail, because the last thing we need is a bunch of BMW owners filling up the repair shops, claiming their BMWs were nearly totaled because a single piece of hail left a small dent in their roof.

Damn. Looks like I need to move a car into the garage then

I'm near Brushy Creek, and all cars that were not under some kind of cover have glass damage.

I lost 2 living room windows -- 1 of which was double-pane glass must have been hit twice and got a hole bigger than my fist to the outside air.  I already patched that until it can be replaced.  The other window had all kinds of breakage on the outside pane, but nothing came through the inside that I can tell.

Where I'm at in RR, any windows that weren't under a big enough awning that faced East got lots of damage.

My garage saved any car damage.

As bad as the wait is going to be here for car and car-glass repairs, if I had a car with glass damage I'd hightail it to Houston or Dallas to not have to wait forever to get it fixed.

What a MESS!  FFS

Lemons into lemonade... sometimes dealerships sell off inventory at steep discounts after hail, right? I'd be in the market for a truck that got hit by the ugly stick if it mechanically is new. I try to be a drive til it falls apart type owner.

1.5" in Hewitt.  Thunder and lightning and more hail than I care for.

Looks like I'm probably getting a new roof.

We just got a new roof two years ago, but it was a “heavy duty” upgrade, so the 1” hail probably didn’t damage it much.

Absolutely zero rain in NW Travis.  But also, no hail.

Barely any rain in 78750.  Just wind.

78756 - pool ball size hail, broken windshield and damaged 2 of my kids' vehicles.  Nowhere near as bad as some of the Round Rock experiences.

Jealousy GIF

It was wet outside when I took the kids to school. Must've gotten something at some point.

Round 4 that came through around 12:45 had some wicked lightning.   There were at least a dozen strikes that hit 50-100 feet from my house.   Thought for sure I was gonna be down a tree this morning.

Just enough rain in San Marcos to settle the dust and let the dogs get muddy paws.

1.05" in Boerne, the most we've had since Spring.  Like, since Spring, we've had almost 0 rain.

Thunder all night, though, I didn't get much sleep.

Yeah, we got diddly squat.

113 heat index yesterday afternoon here, then the terrible hail.
Now there is a cricket infestation going on down in the Austin area.
Last week there was a 3.0 earthquake between here and San Antonio.

Glad I’m stocked up on ammo & Gatorade. 😜

Yep.  I can't sleep through any of that so I was up.  All in all we we were lucky.

Honestly I don't remember the last time we had a thunderstorm like that.
