October 3, 20232 yr Randomly turned on the Tennis Channel at about 8:48am and who is playing a LIVE match? Álcaraz 🇪🇸 v Sinner 🇮🇹 It was 4-4 in the 1st set. Now 5-5.
October 3, 20232 yr First set went to a tie breaker. Sinner serving at 5-2 in the breaker proceeded to lose both of his service points. Álcaraz at 4-5 then loses the next two points on his second serves, including Sinner absolutely teeing off on the second serve into the deuce court cross court into the corner as Álcaraz lunges and flails at the ball flying past him. So Sinner takes the first set 7-6 (4) and then comes back and breaks Álcaraz to start the second set. Even more that Djokovic, Sinner is Álcaraz’s worst matchup.
October 3, 20232 yr Álcaraz- 6 1 .Sinner.- 7 6 Lots of deuce games in the second set that sometimes had several break point opportunities, but Sinner won all of those games.
October 4, 20232 yr Jannik Sinner 7 7 D. Medvedev. 6 6 With that, Sinner will move up to #4 in the world behind: #1 Djokovic #2 Álcaraz #3 Medvedev #4 Sinner (up 3 spots)
October 7, 20232 yr Iga beat Coco 6-2 , 6-3. And then Rybakina lost to Samsonova. 😕 Iga gets destroyed by big hitters with flat shots, so I would have liked to have seen Rybakina make the final.

Last year in Fort Worth you would have thought that the tournament was being held during the COVID lockdown. The arena was a ghost town. Perhaps selecting the venue 6 to 12 months in advance and then promoting the thing and organizing the thing over those 6 to 12 months might make for a better year end tournament. Maybe. 🤔
November 6, 20232 yr Author All the rain pushed both finals to tomorrow. Iga beat Aryna, will face JPeg. Iga reclaims year-end #1 with a win, Aryna otherwise.
