April 3, 20232 yr Author Elina Svitolina is back & looking pretty damn good, post-baby. Playing 3 v. Yulia now on the green/gray clay in Charleston.
April 4, 20232 yr Author There's a lot of shit on tonight, but Sofia v. Sasnovich right now doesn't suck either.
April 7, 20232 yr The ATP Houston clay tournament has been a washout so far and it looks like they'll be getting more rain tomorrow. There's still a first round match that hasn't finished....
April 7, 20232 yr Author Genie won a match this week. Horrific socks/shoes combo, but I appreciate the camera work. Genie.mp4
April 8, 20232 yr Author Peyton is in the semis of Bogota, a red clay 250. Plays Rakhimova second on today, is actually a -170 favorite.
April 9, 20232 yr Author Holy shit, Peyton came back from a set down & a long rain delay to advance to the final against Tatjana Maria.
April 9, 20232 yr Peyton is so close to cracking the top 100. I think she will be top 100 if she wins tomorrow

Glasspool for doubles in January this year Probably Vladimíra Uhlířová for women's doubles No clue about singles for either main tours- unless you count Jill Craybas (played at Texas for one year before transferring to Florida). Kevin Curren was winning titles in the 80s. Also Lulu Sun is at a career high ranking 226. Should be borderline to get into most Grand Slam qualifying tournaments. Unfortunately she'll be out for several months after tearing ligaments at her last tournament.
April 9, 20232 yr Author Singles, & I’m counting Jill as a Gator. She is a good commentator though. Crazy we don’t have anyone this century. Looks like they moved the final up an hour, Peyton dropped the first. Edited April 9, 20232 yr by shadow_operative2.0 Damnit.
April 9, 20232 yr Author On TC now, Lindsay just said she’s already up to #88. First defending NCAA champ to crack the top-100 in the following year since Gibbsy 10 years ago, & the fastest since Lisa Raymond in ‘92. Edited April 9, 20232 yr by shadow_operative2.0
April 9, 20232 yr Wasn’t her day today but I’m sure its only a matter of time before Peyton wins a WTA event

I had looked at the rankings and figured that if Peyton lost in the final of a WTA250, she would get 125 points. But it turned out that she was awarded 180 points, which doesn’t make sense. Perhaps she went through qualifying and got 30 points for that and then got 150 points for making it to the final. Not sure, but in general the breakdowns for each round have been half of the next round. https://www.wtatennis.com/news/3145520/rankings-watch-stearns-cracks-top-100-jabeur-edges-higher

April 20, 20232 yr Ostapenko was up 5-3 in the 2nd set to win in straight sets over Jabeur… NOT SO FAST… She lost the 2nd set 5-7 and the. Got crushed in the 3rd set.
April 20, 20232 yr Author Aryna destroyed Krejcikova. Genie is in a Portugal ITF, plays Kovinic this morning.
April 21, 20232 yr Digging the burnt orange Nike gear for the clay court season. I'm guessing it's supposed to match the clay, but sure looks burnt orange on TV. Edited April 21, 20232 yr by Mullet Free
April 23, 20232 yr Author Helluva day for tennis tomorrow. Alcaraz v. Tsitsipas in Barcelona Iga v. Aryna in Stuttgart

April 24, 20232 yr Author Dude on the other site ONLY posts when there’s any Iga slander, this is funny. Quote Awkward? She has the right to be anywhere on her side of tennis court. Plus, I think it's a good strategy Not a soul said she didn’t have a right to do it. But athletes in all professional sports do awkward shit every goddamn day. It’s okay, buddy.

She reminds me of my 4’10” Argie girlfriend, but she’s thicker than my Novia. Still… When the girl is short & thicc, but with a flat stomach, you can still easily move her around while avoiding bruising when ”intensity” picks up. I am 100% behind Li’l Lauren Davis. 😍
May 1, 20232 yr Author Andreeva turned 16 the other day, she gets Aryna now. It likely won’t end well, but she can play.
May 1, 20232 yr Mayar Sherif is having the tournament of her life! She’s onto the quarterfinals of a WTA 1000 event that actually has 7 rounds for lower level players, just like a Grand Slam. But doesn’t have some of the chaff that a full 128 player Grand Slam has. It started with a walkover at one set a piece, but she has advanced to the 5th round in a 7 round tournaments after never getting passed the 2nd round. Sure, she has 1 title on the WTA tournament, but she will get almost as many or more points here and much more money.
May 3, 20232 yr I don’t normally pull for Russians, especially over the last 16 months, but I like Aslan Karatsev. I wouldn’t mind seeing him continue on. No one has ever looked like would rather be anywhere instead of in front of the cameras, collecting an Olympic medal more than Karatsev did when he lost the mixed doubles final in Tokyo to another Russian team and had to stand around for photos after receiving his silver medal. It was as uncomfortable for him as a “Lose Your Enthusiasm” scene.
