Unless I misheard it, these are the ones voting no:

  • Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)
  • Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC)
  • Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX)

Wonder if they join Three Toes in going after Johnson.

You heard correctly.  And there's this:

Quote

9-3, Dems on House Rules Committee join six Republicans to send rule — governing parameters of the floor debate on the foreign aid package — to the floor. Three Rs on the committee: Ralph Norman, Chip Roy and Thomas Massie voted against it. Typically rules go along straight party lines — and virtually always do in committee. This Congress has changed that. Amid major GOP divisions, Dems supplying the votes to get aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan through the House. The rule allows for the separate aid bills to be tied together as one package (worth $95B) that will be sent to the Senate

But this bill goes nowhere once she motions to vacate, right?

Thats now their only pkay. Delay this by vacating. Have to assume the dems are ready in lock step to save the gavel?

Johnson’s coalition with the Democrats will have to hold through three more tests.

  • One will come today when the rule is before the full House and will require bipartisan support.
  • The next will come on Saturday when the four component pieces of the aid package are scheduled for votes.
  • And then the final test of this experiment in bipartisanship will come at some point later when Democrats will be asked to help Johnson thwart a motion-to-vacate resolution.

But can’t they motion to vacate at any time?

Here you go:

Under House Rule IX, a resolution declaring the office of Speaker of the United States House of Representatives vacant (informally referred to as a "motion to vacate") is considered privileged: once introduced on the floor by a member, the resolution must be put to a floor vote within two legislative days.

Quote

On March 22, 2024, Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a resolution to remove Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House, after the latter put up for a vote a minibus spending bill opposed by a majority of the Republican Conference (thereby violating the Hastert convention). The resolution was non-privileged and did not trigger an immediate vote, due to Greene's decision to introduce it through regular channels rather than on the floor. Greene claimed the resolution was merely "a warning" and didn't commit to forcing a vote on it.[21][22][23] Members of the Democratic Caucus have suggested they would vote against vacating the office of Speaker if the House passes Ukraine aid, should the resolution be brought to a vote.[24] On April 16, Republican representative Thomas Massie added his signature to Greene's resolution.[25]

NAFO fella chiming in. This tracks with what others have indicated:

SBC and AIPAC teamed up to get those members to commit to the DP and then used that to bully Johnson into moving forward.

So when do we get Speaker Jeffries and get some shit done before losing the Senate in January?

Even if they file the MTV today, because Leadership can push it off for 2 legislative days, so they can't sink the aid packages. And they're not in session next week

The rule for the foreign aid package passed 316-94.  165 D and 151 Rs.

Official vote on the package is tomorrow at noon.

“AIPAC and the Southern Baptist Convention teamed up to push guns to Ukraine” is a sentence that never before has been contemplated and will make all the worst heads explode.

You sure that doesn’t mean southwestern bell corporation?  You have to be on the lookout for shadow telecoms and how they steer the country.

LOL - I was going to support SML Johnson for having some backbone and getting this shit started on a path to get voted on (and hopefully passed), but I am waiting to see if Three Year Letterman agrees with catturd2, if not I may have to reevaluate.

If the situation plays out to give Dems control of the House, they better RAM through every god damn thing they’ve ever wanted.  The find out needs to be the most find outtie of all find outs.  Fuckin Medicare for all, codified abortion access, massive taxes on the super wealthy, order of magnitude increases in education funding, free universal childcare, massive gerrymandering restrictions on states, and a change in who is eligible for the presidency (no one under current indictment or currently being tried for a felony).  FUCK THOSE DUMB MOTHERFUCKERS.

When would the SBC have the time for such a complex endeavor?  They're too busy diddling little kids, and concocting a complicated coverup.

Well they don't dance, so that leaves Friday and Saturday nights open.

Possible? Yes. Likely? No. You need one of Manchin and Sinema still. Ain’t gonna happen.

This is how much the Three Toes and Gaetz faction have fucked up, and why they may not file a motion to vacate.

Mike Johnson’s Speakership is OVER!

He has betrayed Republicans by handing the gavel to Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and the rest of the Democrats.

He betrayed us on border security.

He betrayed us on funding endless foreign wars.

He betrayed us on FISA.

He betrayed us on fully funding Biden’s DOJ.

And Mike Johnson did it all by working with the Democrats.

It’s time for him to resign, so Republicans can elect a Speaker who will work for our party.

-----

C'mon motion to vacate...he's not going to resign and he's laughing at you Three Toes.

Sounds like she can't quit him.

She's getting a lot of attention right now, with the media swarming her and wanting to know if she'll go through with MTV.  If she does, and Johnson remains, the media will start ignoring her.

Best to keep pretending like you're going to.
